Yes, the Kents are a unique branch of the Royal Family in that they are close cousins of both the Queen and Prince Philip. The current Duke of Kent, Prince Michael, and Princess Alexandra are first cousins of the Queen, and first cousins once removed of Prince Philip. (Princess Marina was Prince Philip's first cousin.)

The Kents were indeed beautiful people perhaps the most attractive of all in the British Royal Family. The current Duke looks like his father and Alexandra is Mama's twin indeed.

He was bi but this wasnt wellknown and he was more popular than his brother Albert who became George 6th.

He was even being considered to become king instead of Albert the queens father who was shy and stuttered

@LookinIand I am glad the Duke of York did become King rather than Kent. York's wife was an especially gifted at PR and had astute political principles. I commend her early, strong and eventually implacable opposition to Hitler's Germany when many wanted to work a deal there. George VI played a vital role in rallying the Britain, the Commonwealth and America to the war effort. One thought he might be conservative but knew him thoroughly decent.

Very nice I think people forget Princess Marina was widowed durin WW II and those chidlren grew up without their father. Of the Kents the Duchess is a wonderful woman and as for Princess Alexandra she is a hard working kind lady. do not know anything about the younger generation. katherine Duchess of Kent quietly teaches children. I see Marinia Oglive is stil in the doghouse. Hoever, I am glad she was reconciled with her father before he died. Nicely done. I always admired Princess Marina.

thank you. The last one is from the World War II Commemoration at Buckingham Palace, 2005. The one with Prince and Princess Michael is from the 60th wedding anniversary of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, 2007
