I really wish they wouldn't these guys contest the high school records in pro races. Kinda hard to compare running a record all on your own to pacing off the fastest guys in the world.

German ran the race with high schoolers only and it was a windy day, but 8:29 is stil very impressive.

FUNNY part where Verzbicas brings it in TRAILING SO FAR BEHIND everyone else as if he SUCKS. Yet he clocked an 8:29 as a SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL in that race. Just PUTS THINGS IN PERSPCTIVE when you get to the INTERNATIONAL LEVEL.

Verzbicas is a TRIBUTE to Pre. He goes BALLS OUT FROM THE GUN and LEAVES NOTHING on the track, just as a REAL RUNNER SHOULD. None of this CHICKEN SH*T RACING you see all the time now (e.g., "Whimpy" Wheating). I see GREAT THINGS in his future!

Fernandez set his 3200m national record at the California State Meet where he also ran a meet record for the 1600m. Both races are on Youtube, look it up.
