Almost same happened to me, except i didn't get knocked off my mount, I got out-ranged RIGHT ON THE LANDING STRIP. Needless to say I was swearing very loudly at my PC at this point. This was the first time I made it to the strip, too :/
omg i hate him so much. so far i've tried 10,000 but thanks to sever side lag, he disappears and then i suddenly fail. i could see the runway and he was about ot land, disppeared, and i failed again. rawr.
Wow and OUCH! I had a similar thing happen to me too, except it was when he does the lap around the watch tower before landing. I was lucky though: I hit Aspect of the Cheetah and RAN full-pelt down the runway.
Same happened to me at almost the end! I love it when he actually flies into his own shots and then he vanishes and appears somewhere behind me and. Sounds like a lag issue, but my latency isn't bad at all.... I still need to finish this race.
you know... that bug caused me to dismount in 25 of the 30 times I tried that quest...
But why does this happen I mean it's so fking annoying!

Wow that's EXACTLY what happened to me 3 times in a row before i gave up. i dunno how to avoid it if it's bugged but wow. annoying and what a waste
