John Lennon was killed 28 years ago today. Unfortunately i was born 12 years after he died so i didnt even get to live through beatlemania. But john will always be my hero. He was a very important person to everyone and will ALWAYS be a legend. RIP John Lennon

When I heard of John Lennon's death.I lost track of time. I remember being in my car driving to NYC ? I did not make it. I then was just sitting in my car at rest area on the high way and cried.hrs had passed.I then drove home . Thanks was great. I was just telling "Therealbrimagic" that the night John Lennon was murdered, I was sitting-up in bed watching T.V. Then a "Special Report" broke-in. I cried almost contantly for the next 4 or 5 days...
It amazes me that so many people remember where they were when it happened. I had been watching Monday Night Football with my dad. (In a house full of girls, I was the one who figured out football.) But I went to bed and a while later, Dad knocked at my door and said "one of your buddies is dead". Dad knew I was a fan, hence the "buddy" comment.
I watched that game. I can't even remember who was playing, now. I just remember Cosell making the announcement, after that shock, and then tears. You are right...a buddy.

I went to NYC once to vist a friend who had just started grad school at Columbia. We were playing around in Central Park in a pile of leaves on a beautiful fall day. When we surfaced and came out of the park there was the Dakota. It took me by surprise. :) Couldn't cross the street though. It. Just. Felt. Wrong. Great vid.

I remeber when my uncle brought home the new Beatles album, HELP!! I've been a fan of all four since then. When John was foolishly taken away from us, I knew it would be a matter time when Elton would put out a tribute of some sort. This was a lovely tribute. For those of us old enough to remember, he will always be with us.

I have never been so touched by a tribute to Lennon. I couldnt keep the tears from falling. John was beautiful in many ways and this video shows that. Thank you so much! Rest in PEACE John we love and miss you!

I literally have goosebumps and tears in my eyes after watching this. Absolutely fantastic. I wish it were possible to rate more than five stars, but for the record I rate it 5 times 100! :-) Brilliant. RIP John.

Ya know, most people don't want to give peace any chance at all. And when it comes to John, so many people get hung up on his comments about Christ and Christianity. Were they truly dumb remarks to make? Yes. Were they the entire esscence of the man as a whole? No. "It ain't fair, John Sinclair in the stir for breathin air."

Thanks for both emails. And I will say what I said in my email here. Lennon has enriched the lives of so many with his music that he left behind as a beautiful gift. And as far as Elton John goes I consider him to be the Worlds True Angel of Music who has enlightened my life in so many thousands of ways with his magical ballads. Thanks for this video. It's beautiful.

Great video great man very wise but sorry to say this song hides behind the name (if another tried to come out with such a song, it would never be given a second listen) but the vid makes up for it thank you for sharing

I went to NYC once to vist a friend who had just started grad school at Columbia. We were playing around in Central Park in a pile of leaves on a beautiful fall day. When we surfaced and came out of the park there was the Dakota. It took me by surprise. :) Couldn't cross the street though. It. Just. Felt. Wrong. Great vid.

feb 9th 1963 the beatles first played on ed sullivan ,it was my birthday ,i was 9 yrs old, i sat on the floor and watched them on a black and white tv , he was one of my heros, thanks for sharing this moment with us

I remeber when my uncle brought home the new Beatles album, HELP!! I've been a fan of all four since then. When John was foolishly taken away from us, I knew it would be a matter time when Elton would put out a tribute of some sort. This was a lovely tribute. For those of us old enough to remember, he will always be with us.
