Music is not something static that exists to be played in one way, and one way only. In fact, I think that was the main point Jerry C. made by arranging Pachelbel's "Cannon in D" for the electric guitar in the first place. Jerry C. certainly deserves a lot of credit for his arrangement of this piece. But so does Funtwo for his beautiful interpretation of Jerry C.'s arrangement.

JerryC isn't even playing in his video, he "lipsyncs" it, with his original song in the background. Listen to it carefully, you'll notice it's identical to the song.
Also, there are quite a few mistakes in his song as well, as it wasn't really mixed and mastered professionally. It's amazing how his basement experiment got so much fame from Funtwo's video.
It's a shame for JerryC though, he wrote the arrangement but funtwo takes all the credit :/

Lots of asian countries give the mindset of working harder.. I think that's why many of them are successful, since they will get extremely good and like he said, only rate himself 60/100. That's why so many asians are significantly more talented than other races, I think.
And now 2 years later it has 51,716,052 views! I don't think he should worry about his other career at this point, he could fill a stadium of people wanting to hear him play now.
I know he's really good. It's just that he gets at least ten times the credit that he deserves from his level of talent. He almost always plays things that he didn't write. Anyone can play the stuff he plays with a whole lot of practice, and then probably more accurate than him if you work on it. It's the writing skill that separates the men from the boys, or the "guitarists" from the "guitar players" respectively.
That is 100% true, and unfortunately most people who don't play an instrument don't realize it. I'm gonna get flamed for this, but the song really isn't hard at all. Funtwo, though, does play the song exceptionally well, with few mistakes. But thousands of other guitarists could play just as good as he can in short time.
I honestly think the real reason he's so famous is because his video was uploaded while youtube was still young, and he was the first to cover this song.
you know he didnt even want or expect the fame and this much attention when he put his video up. He is just not a serious player even though he enjoys playing guitar. He dosent brag about the fame. He even said that hes seen many better players than himself in Seoul, Korea where he lives in. He is a modest guy who just likes to play guitar as a hobby just like millions out there and ppl happened to like his performance on YouTube. He dosent claim to be a great anything. Thats the bottom line.

I would definitely put Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot on the same bandwagon of mainstream media overrated sellouts, but they are more talented than the rest of those mentioned, particularly A7X, although Synester really isn't that great.

I know he's really good. It's just that he gets at least ten times the credit that he deserves from his level of talent. He almost always plays things that he didn't write. Anyone can play the stuff he plays with a whole lot of practice, and then probably more accurate than him if you work on it. It's the writing skill that separates the men from the boys, or the "guitarists" from the "guitar players" respectively.

That is 100% true, and unfortunately most people who don't play an instrument don't realize it. I'm gonna get flamed for this, but the song really isn't hard at all. Funtwo, though, does play the song exceptionally well, with few mistakes. But thousands of other guitarists could play just as good as he can in short time.
I honestly think the real reason he's so famous is because his video was uploaded while youtube was still young, and he was the first to cover this song.

you know he didnt even want or expect the fame and this much attention when he put his video up. He is just not a serious player even though he enjoys playing guitar. He dosent brag about the fame. He even said that hes seen many better players than himself in Seoul, Korea where he lives in. He is a modest guy who just likes to play guitar as a hobby just like millions out there and ppl happened to like his performance on YouTube. He dosent claim to be a great anything. Thats the bottom line.

yeah I appreciate his humility on the issue for sure. I am just mad at the media for overblowing him just like with Dragonforce, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, and Avenged Sevenfold.

I would definitely put Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot on the same bandwagon of mainstream media overrated sellouts, but they are more talented than the rest of those mentioned, particularly A7X, although Synester really isn't that great.

That woman's voice is annoying. He lives in Auckland, N.Z - cool haha. He's awesome, he was on our local extra news program, Campbell Live a few days ago. He's so awesome - well grounded and humble.
