Listening to these guys is the best way to spend the last day of summer 2011! I think that Jack Lord smiles down on us all everytime Los Straitjackets plays this one. This IS surf at its best.
I am Spinout recording artist Ray Wallace. Eddie Angel produced my CD. Eddie Angel taught me how to play the guitar back in 1981. I met Eddie at the Takoma Tap Room in Silver Spring, Maryland on a Friday night in January of 1980. It was his first night in Tex Rubinowitz's band The Bad Boys. You can see some Ray Wallace videos here on YouTube. Songs such as "I Dream of Jeannie," "Death to SMERSH," and others. You can even hear all the words.
Absolutely one of the greatest, most underrated bands going. And though they're all awesome musicians, I really notice their drummer more than with other bands. He's absolutely amazing.
I had been worried for years that there would be no one to take the place of the Ventures when they could no longer play or died off. I need worry no more. The Straitjackets are more than worthy. Perhaps they too will one day be in the Rock Hall of Fame ?
you too ,i also saw them on the Conan O'brian show in the 90's i remember that night still, for years i have been looking for their records but thanks to youtubei can liste to them anytime, love this guys ,,,no band can play as melodic and soulful as they can play their guitars
@Fuzzyboy1976 i recorded them on that episode , i loved it! but, over the years now i can't find that tape. i wore that video tape out with the rewind and play action.

Viva Los Straitjackets! But, damn man - where's the bass player. The Rhythm section lays down the fattest back beat ...
