  • I remember back when my wife and I were dating. We were in Greenwich Village and had to pass through a mess of Hare Krishna's chanting and begging. Nora (my date and wife of 26 years) says 'Mr. Wizzard! Mr. Wizzard! I don't wanna be a Krishna no more! Mr. Wizzard! Help!' We laughed for blocks!

In fact, "KING LEONARDO AND HIS SHORT SUBJECTS" (in which "Tooter & Mr. Wizard" was the second feature of the show) was NBC's first Saturday morning all-color animated cartoon series [without a live host, as Jimmy Blaine was on "RUFF & REDDY" (1957-'60)], appearing in the fall of 1960.
