Very poor intro music, rubbish graphics. Look at the far more superior Six O'Clock News on BBC 1 at the time to see how computer graphics could still be good in the 80s.

To be fair this was just an old intro that had been around since the 70s, and which had just been left in service a little too long.

For its day (1978) it was a very decent intro. I always liked the full version of that theme.

@jasejames Very good point, this intro had been used since the 545 had been introduced in September 1976, and in the following year ITN introduced some cosmetic changes across all of its news bulletins that brought the image bang up to date
