Why do they need magnetism? Why doesn't Jesus just tell them where and when to go? Why do you need naturalistic explanations at all? It is frustrating that you cherry pick what you give a naturalistic explanation or supernatural explanation for.
If you are looking for simple explanations, it is much simpler to explain the earth as being supported on the shoulders of a strong man named Atlas than to explain, as science tells us, that it is hanging on nothing. (Which, by the way, the Bible said a few thousand years ago in Job 26:7.)

The evolutionary hypothesis is much simpler for
