The music from 5:00 onward is so the music from one of Akira Kurosawa's samurai movies. It is either in the film or in the menu to the film but I know because I have that film at home.
i Remember when i was a noob, and finally got a chance to play ulduar :) i remember 5:00 , when i listened to it right now, i felt this cold chill in my body and i felt something in my heart, i said : " it will never be the same, wotlk gave me my best memories and best year" i hope mists of pandaria will be the same, because cata ruined everything :(
5:00 God I have to cry..Fuckin remembers..When I first time started at Borean Tundra, exploring Howling Fjord and other countries, killing Vrykuls, dragons and iron dwarves..it never will be same...
Holy crap hearing this music and seeing the picture of Storm Peaks made me remember that moment when my warrior first dinged 80. I remember lining up my camera, turning on fraps, then turning in the quest to that dwarf guy in the cave or whatever. It's been a while, but this song immediately invoked that memory.
Listening to this allows me to feel the solitude that i long for, that same solitude i felt in the many hours of trying to camp the Proto Drake, but to no avail.
Wanted to introduce my friends to wow because of the way the game is put together with the music, quests and stories...but Im not sure if I should since they increased the XP gain when levelling up. My fear is that we play and we level up so fast we just end up skipping a lot of content. I mean if we stayed in certain areas to do all the quests the game would end up being easy. I miss when levelling was not such a rush to get to 85 :(
@19Matze87 Or even more fun, gank the TLPD campers. >:D Oh, I remember the rage... Killing some random ally, and flying away on the drake they tried to get. :D:D
only thing that keeps me alive when i camp for time lost shame that cata fucked up wow so badly...dalaran is a ghosttown just like Shattrath city was in beginning of wotlk:<
@BloodrazorMusic I quit when Cata came out and I don't want to go back to wow, although I do miss it. I am afraid Cata will wreck my opinion on Wow. I just wish it was still WotLK :(
@Storiann thats pretty much the same thing everyone said about wotlk when they "missed BC" and the same thing everyone said about BC when they "missed classic" -_- cata is not making the game bad, its just a sense of nostalgia. I mean once the next expansion comes out you guys are gonna be saying you miss cata and that the new expansion sucks
the part from 3:29 is absolutely amazing... it reminds me raiding ulduar at nights with my guild.. (cuz this is night music right :) ) just standing at meeting stone, summoning people, some duels, and this beautiful music... brings tear to eyes :)
after camping the time lost proto drake for so long, as i stared at this picture....i coulda sworn a time lost proto drake flew across the screen, and so i logged back into WoW aaaaaaaaaand i found a certain rare...........vyragosa again god damnit!!!!
Storm Peaks is my absolute favorite zone music. I'd go to sleep listening to it. I miss wow. I seriously can't wait until Cata is here, I'll probably start playing again then. :\
@thelovethelight I DO go to sleep to it >_> Right now I'm relaxing, listening to it before I go to sleep because I lost my mp3 player (difficult for me to go to sleep to silence).
Damnit, I can't stand it! I've never been to storm peaks before so this music is fresh to me without attachment. Now I've attached it to story concepts that have nothing to do with WOW and they'll stay that way! lol!
I had skipped the Sons of Hodir quest chain for awhile until I heard of its uber enchants (shoulders, I think). I was still reluctant to go through the quest chain, but after listening to the music of this place it really grew on me. And of course I still spend my time hunting the Proto Drake mount there, so I get to listen to the music more :D
I had the quest to get the tools from the mine field and I saw that goblin said something like "Are you finally going to get me out of here? No, just getting the tools. /sigh" and this was playing. Poor goblin D;
I remember questing here on my first 80. I would only quest at night because my server is full of Horde. I love most of the quest here, but the music always added a nice touch to the storyline of the area. 5:00-6:40 stands out to me the most, but the whole thing is made of epicness. :O
ahhh...brings back memories...the first time i stepped foot in storm peaks...it is just such nice music, blizzard did really well with all northrend music imo, icecrowns drums sound amazing!
This makes me think about all the nights i spent looking for the time lost proto drake. Really the only thing i got out of getting that drake, was time lost.
Storm Peaks easily takes the prize for best soundtrack. Simply amazing, the French Horn solo is captivating. If only Blizzard had this quality of music composition for everywhere else...
This song made me go back to WoW after 2,5 years break. And I dont regret, leveling in Northend is awesome and, despite what all those hardcore nerds say, the game is still great even for adult casuals!
For sure itsall about the the mix of visual... the concept of the adventure, the high level creatures around, the heavenly air around the Giant races and its gigantic structures and the feeling about that barbaric Vrykul dwlling there, and... TimLost-Proto-Drake, for sure the one of the most incredible places in all World of Warcraft. All of it powered by that sound, makes de spirit of Storm Peaks. Pure Awesomeness
See... it never plays this theme or the day one for me when I'm in Storm Peaks. I had heard SP music was awesome, but was disappointed because all I personally hear when I'm there is random flute music. No orchestra, no operatic vocals, nothing. Just a flute.
...so I found myself using a soundtrack add-on and putting an alternative song in its place when I'm there. >.>
As many people have said below, I adore the part from 4:00. It has a sense of... loss yet it sounds so peaceful. Maybe it reflects on both the stunning environment and the events happening there?
4:57 seconds is just so...beautiful. I get goosebumps evertime i hear it, it nearly makes me cry. Everytime i go past stormpeaks, i reset the music just to hear this part, haha!
Mountains of Thunder is the track that has most of the Storm Peaks music into one song. listen to 2:45 of that song and you will cry, it is so beautiful!
You can minimize sound effects to 0% and let only music. Like that, you won't hear the "need more mana" things and u will be able to enjoy such beautiful music scenes :D
One of Blizzard's best, especially the daytime version. Good job for making this !
wow with music is so awsome..i wish i didnt have friend on vent that wanna talk all time so i could play wow with music.... damn missed the first lvls when i was alone in ashenvale...awsome music there too
It's essentially the same as daytime, score-wise, but part-wise it has virtually little to no upper woodwind instrumentation to make it sound more, well, darker, since it is nighttime.
3:30 favorite music in the whole WotLK expansion, perhaps even the whole game. Both the Day and Night versions: SP_GenericWalkB_Night02.mp3, SP_GenericWalkB_Day02.mp3
