Inside the box it is 12 awg wire -- they are all connected inside to the 8 awg you see coming out of the box.

Sure - this box is 4 cubic feet. It's really too big for these 8s -- we modified an existing box that was laying around the shop for testing. Ideally you would want about 2.4 or so after displacement.
