@flatoutt1 Thanks again for the recommendation. The Dish is a gem! I was four when that all took place and it's one of the most vivid memories of my early childhood. I actually cried at the end! 10/10
"How's Mum?" "Good." "How's Dad?" "Good." "How's Trace?" "Good." "How are you?" "Good." "How's Steve?" "He's alright." Gets me every time!! Hahahaha!! I love this film :) Thank God for The Castle! Makes me feel warm and fuzzy about being an Aussie :)
It's online! My favourite Aussie movie ever! Love Chopper, Priscilla, Muriel's..., Noise ... great, natural and funny movies. Best dad ever, apart from the DIY ;o)
I first saw this movie twelve years ago when I rented it on impulse from an independent video store in my hometown in the middle of North Carolina. God knows how this movie got there, but it was wonderful. I only saw it the one time, but I've been meaning to see it again ever since, especially since the old video store got shut down from competition by the Blockbuster.
Thank you so much for posting this. I forgot how funny it was.
That house is actually quite good. Come here to South Korea and you will see people living in houses that look like total crap you would not even put your dog in them.
For those of you who think they've seen Steve, the 'Trading Post' brother before, you have. He's Anthony Simcoe, aka D'argo in Farscape.
This movie is really a love letter to Australian culture and values,in all their dagginess and inelegence. The 'fair go',the family,a sense of humor. If you want to understand Australian culture, this is a great place to start.
this is a fucking epic movie , although Coolaroo isn't really 'close' to the airport, but rather a flight path for inbound/outbound planes using runway 09/27. thanks for the upload!
So glad I found this... A brilliant film... Just love Aussie humour!!
