  • LMAO oh my god looked for arrows but the indians were chasing me

  • Thank you! This is very helpful

  • Hey Carpet Installer Guru's who posted replies! Did you know that you can REPLY to this video, with a video, showing us all the 'correct way' of doing the job? I don't know about carpet installing, and didn't learn the correct way from the replies. I always enjoy hearing from the pros, but they need to explain or show us how its done.

  • Only haters with nothing else too do would write such rediculous things when someone is trying to help others. How abot just adding in extra tips or make your own video. I found it very helpfull... Fuck off haters!

  • its hurts my brain to c u cut straight into loops.

  • @chriscullane88 Please post a video showing us all the correct way to do this job. It would greatly benefit everyone who did a YouTube search of seaming a berber.

  • S. E. A. M.

  • A Retarded Caveman could do better than This.

  • This guy sucks.do not do any of these methods.what a Moron. I could seam this Carpet and you could never find my seam.

  • disgrace !!! you never cut loop pile carpet with trace-cut style. You are informing people with wrong info you should never talk about carpet .PEOPLE DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS GUY . !!!!!!!!!

  • @bluecollarbrothers Please post a video reply, showing us how the pro does it correctly. We would all benefit from your pro video.

  • @HawaiiSurfer2007 I am working on different material nowadays,i will post correct and acceptable "residential carpet seam" asap when i get my hand on such material. You can visit my account and see different types of flooring installations unfortunately I do not have carpet over pad videos for now. Thanks for asking my opinion.

  • Key is a clean factory row with no extra backing and no shaved yarns :)

  • Mad thanks for putting this video out there. It's only good seam tutorial out there that I've found!

  • What's wrong with people making negative comments. Nothing better to do? It sure helped me but then again I'm not a contractor, trouble is I can't afford one so I have to learn the hard way. I found this video very helpful, it answered the questions I needed to know and my seam turned out Perfect. His seam was certainly less than perfect but once you know the basics the rest it up to you to make it better.

  • Thanks for the step by step instructions! You did a great job explaining all the details in a simple easy to understand fashion. I feel confident enough to tackle a simple carpet job myself now.

  • what a putz....

  • Typical, low intelligence, contractors posting comments here. Idiots that do a job that a monkey can do and believe they are some kind of masters. I am a contractor myself and that's all there is to it - stupid, back breaking work under bitchy and stingy customers or GCs. Carpet is one of the worst and dumbest jobs. Everybody's hiding "secrets". Why don't you, loudmouths make a few revealing videos... about how to properly lay carpet. Poor miserable fools.

  • Love 2:50...."Speakin' of carpets...let's talk about carpets a minumte"...Baaahahahaha

  • OMG!!! I have never seen such a horrible instructional video. Everything this guy did was wrong. I was going to list each error, but what's the point. It's all wrong. What a hack!!!

  • @Rtlang69 Please post a video showing us the correct way of doing the job. If that's not possible, we would all enjoy correct way of doing each step of seaming a berber.

  • How about using a tractor roller to tighten that seam?

  • Worst seam I ever seen

  • Who taught you how to seam carpet ??? What an idiot.....

  • Don't listen to these nigger fagets you did a good job. in my homeland of germany we used to kill jews like these fagget niggers

  • It was a bad job and if your good at what you do, then you would not see the seem! seriously get another job!

  • @leighj78 Your refund is in the mail you simpering nigger faggot

  • oh good I was looking for a use for my 12 tool boxes

  • C'mon guys he can't be that bad...stop carpeting his video with insults.

  • u fucking retard u dont know how to do this get another job your the shity carpet guy no one likes and suck on this homo 8==D

  • @carrascostudios I herd you like having nigger penises inserted into your mouth and bootyhole

  • If i did joins like this id be sacked long time ago.

  • this guy is the stupidest carpet layer in the world, you don't have to use a straight edge dumbass

  • Omg what a jackass if thats how u do all ur seams its no wonder why u see them all.. The way u cut them was wrong. No kicker to bump it together as u burn it. Useing 6" tape with a 4" iron. And the worst part is ur too stupid to buy a seaming tractor to mend the hairs together and better press it into the glue.. All and all. U should be flippin burgers bitch. Carpet guys like u give us a horrible reputation

  • @Dajohnsonking Would you please post a video for us showing us how a pro seams a berber with the correct tools? Your knowledge would be better put to use for all YouTubers.

  • lol at how he says no matter how hard you try you'll see the seam... NO!!!! you might but not everyone. FYI cutting between the naps shouldnt be only if possible it should be how its done everytime. i cant tell you how many seams i've repaired that weere cut through the loops and unravelled all the way down the seam

  • omg

  • This is like watching a train wreck, you want to stop watching but you can't. I think about the only thing he did right was plug in the seaming iron, it is people like you that give flooring installers a bad rep.

  • Why, oh why do people who don't know what they are doing feel the need to post videos on the internet like this. This is a dis-service to anyone who watches it.

    Please stop.

  • Is this guy for real?

  • Everyone is hating on this man, but i have yet to see a video response from any one of those haters.

  • Old Chinese proverb. Man with many tool boxes has least skill.

  • Sorry no! I can't just sit there and let anyone think this guy is doing this correctly, just no!

My labourer of 1.5 years can do a better join.

1st: Do not use a straight edge on top of the carpet.

2nd: Wrong size tape for the iron(not"heat-gun"?)

3rd: seam sealing after the join is done?

4th: Why is there gaps in your join? where is your knee kicker during this? Maybe there would be no gaps had you used it.

5th,6th,7th...... I could go on. DON'T USE THIS GUY TO DO ANYTHING IN YOUR HOUSE!!!

  • that guy does not know how to do a seam.

  • you are a fucking idiot, ive been doing carpet seams for 25 yrs and have never seen anyone do seams like that!! not everyone has a van full of tool boxes to lay on the seams LOL

  • I recently installed some carpet which requires seam joining. I do not have a heat iron. Someone recommended I use cold seaming tape. I found some on ebay, but it was recommended for temporary fixes on;y--it was Qep Roberts brand. An online flooring retailer recommended using an adhesive that you apply along one edge (no tape used) and then finish with a seam roller. Have you any advice re either of these two methods? Can you recommend a good cold seam tape? Thanks for any help.

  • This guy is a complete joke I could of done a better join then that on my 1st yr and it's called tipping a loop pile carpet before you start not when ya finished,

If you need work done let me know

BTW don't ever ever use this guy

  • what an idiot

  • u need to learn to do a seem i am 14 and i can do beter than that u dont know how to do it u need to come to my house and i will show u how to do it

  • real installers have work. the only people complaining they dont have work and the economy sucks are wannabe installers like this idiot. i hope this was a joke and this guy really doesnt burn seams like this. and if he does well real installers will keep making money off repair jobs..lol..

p.s. next time use a pen.tractor.and correct size seam tape... dingdong

  • WTF what kind of seaming of that??? i can still see ur shit!

  • am i the only one that uses a pen to run a row??? hahahaha never seen the top knife against the staight edge before

  • thanks for the vid!

  • LMFAO I HOPE TO GOD THIS IS IN HIS OWN HOME I have been installing for 20 years I have seen some really shabby work in my time but this ranks in the top 10 I have ever seen .. Was i seeing things or was he using 6 inch tape with a 4 inch iron? seam sealer is applied after the seam is made REALLY!? WHAT REALLY KILL'S ME IS HE MADE NO EFFORT WHAT SO EVER TO BUTT THE 2 PIECES TOGETHER FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER OCCUPATION SON LAST THING WE NEED IN THIS TRADE IS ANOTHER BUTCHER WHAT A HACK
  • if you worked with me,I think I would just let you watch me for about a year and maybe tidy the van and clean my stetcher

  • You are everything wrong with the trade. Hey, if any of his customers are reading these comments, I fix $99 installs.

  • wow! epic fail about the only thing you did right was not sitting your iron directly on the carpet and cleaning it when you where done. which is a good thing cause you wont be able to afford to buy new tools doin shitty work like that how about you row the carpet befor triming the seam edges and use the seam sealer for sealing the edges befor you you make the seam you fucking jackoff and again WOW! and top cutting berber you just dont do that.

  • this is why mobile homes have zipper seams...idiots like this that worked as a helper for a couple weeks and now he's an installer?..i think he needs more tool boxes...LOL

  • Oh my goodness ... reminds me of some jacklegs around here that NEVER get any work out of this store

  • Holy crap! Classic

  • Dude, stop installing carpet. You should offer all your customers a refund! Any DIY out there DO NOT do what this guy did.

  • unfortunately this is NOT the way how to seam a carpet together there should be better videos out there .DO NOT FOLLOW WHAT YOU JUST WATCHED.

  • You might as well lay that shit fuzzy side and spit in the seams, and it would look better than the shit your doin. Pawn your fuckin tools and go work mcdonalds.

  • wow! wrong! wrong! wrong! and who uses 6" seam tape with a 3" seaming iron???!!!

I hope you are not a pro!!

  • you don'y know what the hell your doing.......you idiot

  • WOW! if I left a job looking like that I would be out of business in no time

  • Thank you so much. This is really going to help me tommarow. I forgot all about the seaming knife. I gotta buy one.

    Thank you.

  • RIDICULOUS!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME....lmfao

  • by far the worse carpet seam and technique i have ever seen, you would be fired in a heartbeat, ever hear of running a row or double cutting? poosibly rolling the seam and kicking them together to make them tighter? stevie wonder could have done a better job

  • @dtaylor012 i was thinking Ray Charles till i saw your stevie wonder comment..LOL

  • Thank you so much for sharing your video! Very detailed and helpful.

  • Wow, lots of nasty comments on this video. Personally I don't give shit about this, carpet in a home is disgusting and dirty anyways. But reading some of the messages people posted all I can say is relax chumps, its a fucking carpet, its not that important or life threatening. Ever heard the expression "don't sweat the small stuff"??? No wonder people are so miserable nowadays...

  • your a **cking moron and hardly have a clue on what your doing! and for the record you put seam sealer on burber carpet before you do the seam.

  • @ivantman01 your talking shit and you cant even spell berber right wtf you know

  • Thanks for the Tips !! tihs will come in handy

  • your a carpet layers asshole, that was the worst video of carpet seaming/laying i have ever seen!!!

  • this video is just wrong on so many different levels!!

Please do not use this video for anything other entertainment purposes only!

  • If you watch this video I beg you please do not ever try to do a seam with any of the information you got from this! This is the reason carpet installers have such a bad reputation and labor is cheap! To the man that did this GET ANOTHER PROFESSION!!!!!!

  • the man did a fine job for a motherfucker that must do it himself

  • get rid of the straight edge and find a frickin' row to run.... that seam will fray with very little traffic and look like crap in no time.

  • I have a 2 year old grandson that i taught to make better seams than that. Are there any fish in that river that you call a seam?

  • wtf is this idiot doing ??

  • all i can say is wow, i have been installing for 15 yrs and i have to say i have seen my helpers do a better job than this. people pay no attention to this failed attempt at burnin a seam.

  • good video

  • You are a dumb ass!! That is not how you seam carpet!! That is berber carpet and that is not how it is done!! And that hot thing is called a seaming iron...duh...you obviously haven't not used it much b/c the tray is clean and get a tracter and seam weight not tool boxes!!

  • Wow i really hope you didnt charge them for that install. Worst job ive ever seen! Buy a knee kicker, seam tractor, and loose the 10 tool boxes. Actually nevermind just find another job!!!

  • damn where is the carpet kicker , carpet seaming tractror ? this video is a joke..

  • you aint got a fuckin clue ya spa.........why you start a foot of the wall......it a weavy seam,,,,,,should have been done freehand,,,,,that aint how you seam a carpet at all.....

  • @NESS1967 the seam is supposed to be invisible ,what a crap work.

  • @catrashoo in fairness tho,,,,it is very hard and a lot of luck involved to get every seam INVISIBLE,,,,,,but most cut pile carpets do......but tis join is terrible like,,,,,,,,

  • Gee whiz! I just don't know what to say. I just wanted to know how to lay down an indoor/outdoor carpet on my back deck...which is cement.

  • Awful join, just plain AWFUL!! also, why not use a weight instead of a shit load of tool boxes lol????

  • @mikelfc79 lol....yeah.....who the fuck takes that many tool boxes into a wee room like that.........

  • @NESS1967 Thats a redneck way lol

  • Job well done! I'll bet your getting the prevailing wage for this great trade!

  • Wow... if i ever seam a carpet like this way you're showing, i will be called the next day and be asked for a full refund of the whole job... where is the tracktor? and with this kind of carpet why kinda cut are you making? this is seam is totally unacceptable in any professional job

  • Why didn't you use a tractor?

  • you should use a row finder then get your skillsaw and the carpet up the wall wont be so hard to cut OR you could get you reciprocating saw and cut out the wall thats preventing the carpet from laying flat OR you could get your biggest heaviest tool from your toolbox and smash it against you skull repeatedly until a reddish liquid is released .

  • For 2 reasons I literally feel sick to my stomach seeing this, every step he did was WRONG. Second I don't understand how you can be so wrong and yet still make a video about it. I would be so f-ing mad if this was my home and my seam looked like that. I can only imagine how the rest of the job looks if this is how you seam. Ridiculous just ridiculous,I just hope this was your own home man. I literally could have done that whole process blind folded with one arm better than this. makes me sick.

  • As an installer.......I can't begin to tell you how offensive this so called how to is... God help anyone who follows your advice.

  • Nice & easy to understand & (I hope) follow. I've got some carpet to install this weekend & I appreciate having this on YouTube

Thank you for sharing this really helpful video.

  • Brutal job, Dude. Did you watch the HD video?

  • Brutal job, dude

  • absolutely stupid. thats berber someone is gonna pull a line in a few days

  • that seam looked like the work of everyone of the people that commented on this page

  • He looked like a installer from El Paso they watch a video and then they are ready to lay rug lol

  • your entire illustration about carpet seaming, was WRONG.you didnt cut the carpet correctly, you did not use a carpet tractor, you seam sealed the top of the carpet,(WTF)!!THE ONLY CORRECT THING ABOUT THIS VID,IS THAT THAT IS A CARPET!!and speaking of carpet, never say carpet again!!!!!absolutly never!!

  • unbelievable!!!!!!using a slide knife ontop of the rows!!you r clueless idiot!!if neone pays you to do that,it must be an installation in fido's hse!!!

  • Good wee video, however that seam looked terrible. I'll def not be changing the way i do my joins if thats the result...

  • heck, I actually can see that crappy work from my house!

  • everything was good in the video except the seam itself

  • dude you are the worst installer I have ever seen.

  • WTF is wrong with people. This is not how you burn a seam. The seam sealer is prob. the funniest thing I have seen about this video. Keep giving us good installers bad names!

  • dude! u run a row on berber, or pull a thread.

what are you teaching people how not to seam? u were right about cutting on crete, but this is a ba example.

  • This Bloke has No Idea how to do a Quality Jion, for a start you Don't Apply Any seam Sealer from the the Top of the carpet,as it would leave a crispy line and when it would Dry and you would feel this under foot and not only that it May attract dirt and grit depending on what produce he has used ,And Lastly you would do this before you would Jion, and I would not trust this Jion to stay together when he has to streach to room...

  • We're all waiting for part two of this demo...

  • Holy crap I've been doing it wrong for all of these years. I need to get an iron that goes to 11 and throw away my seam sealer and roller...

Jim Walker would have "THE BIG ONE" if he saw this!!!!

  • How many tool boxes do you have?

  • Comment removed

  • another quality job by butch & hak....

  • "Speaking of carpets, let's talk about carpets for a minute."

    -nice.

  • HAHA. Holy sh!t, I thought the same thing.

  • how come you dont use a carpet tractor and dlend the seams together,,,huh?

  • hey......how long have you been installing carpet

  • nice vid all these people with negitive comments were obviously looking on youtube to learn how to seam carpet. why would a pro watch this vid. its like a roofer watching a shingle tutorial. lol you tube thugs wow lmao

  • that is the most pathetic seam that i have ever seen in my life. he should be shot. ever heard of a row finder

    fuckin tool lol

i hope you cut your thumb off ha i would charge you $200 to fix that seem. wouldn't want to see the rest of the house

  • OMG wot a load of rubbish,,,,check the pile from the arrow on the bk????????cant you tell wot way the pile is going by rubbing the carpet with your hand,,,,the loop on that one is like a zig zag,,,n shud be cut that way so it lock,s together like a zip....by the way it,s a seaming iron no a gun......COWBOY,,,ppl like you give us pro,s a bad name

  • unbelievable, ive never seen a row as straight as a straightedge, so is this row cut?? WTF! Do everyone a favor and pull this vid its beyond incorrect.

  • This was a great demo, and great explanation on everything, Thanks for sharing.

  • maybe ya should latex the edge of the carpet before you put the seam together..but thx for the laugh...

  • Now at 6:00 your seam looks like poo because... I just hope your doing this video for fun and not for a living.

  • "keep in mind that carpet needs to be seamed before it is stretched..." KEEP IN MIND THAT PAD GOES DOWN BEFORE CARPET!! haha what a great video.

  • he must work for acme in indpls,in

  • exactly but it's funny to watch

  • lol how funny, use a proper heat seam weight not tool boxes!!he doesn't even get the edges together, priceless.

  • you know, there are a lot of idiots saying what a terrible job this was......but I don't see any videos from them showing how to do it better. Make a video or shut your pie holes.

  • that's because we have better things to do!

  • I can see the seam

  • this guy hasnt got a clue. glad he doesnt work for me

  • u r a fuckin dumbass u retard...........

u r movin da iron 2 damn fast.....

u r not even puttin any pressure on the seam.........

never apply da seam sealer on da carpet......u aplly it on the edges wer both pieces meet u fuckin retard.............

  • do not do what this idiot says

  • Can`t they actually find someone who KNOWS what they are doing?

  • this is bullshit!!

ur moving the iron WAY TO FAST! and u have no form of weight behind the iron eg. a metal plate to put weight on the freshly joined carpet so when the tape hardens it doesn't bubble. u dont need a trim to get a straight cut on the carpet u can use a loop pile cutter which runs in the pile of the carpet so it gives a perfect cut. and u dont have 2 join b4 u stretch! u can stretch both pieces of carpet if u know what ur doing b4 hand

  • or just dont be a pussy and do it all in one peace...takes a little bit of muscle but thats how we do it at work. best result in the end. seams are for rookies or lazy people.

  • this dudes shot, should be called how not to seam a carpet

  • thats a fuckin hack job if ive ever seen one

  • I have never seen such a cowboy job in my life it gives carpet layers a bad name.

  • It seems that ur moving the iron way too fast and the seems dont seem to be hidden at all and the diaganals seem to not match either.

I may be wrong but it sure looks like ur using 6 inch tape but using a 4 inch iron??

Why didnt u use a seam roller

  • Comment removed

  • There are many techniques available to cut and prepare seam edges. This is one version of the trace cut method. Unfortunately, this isn't near the best method to use for this type of material.

The idea is to construct a bond between the two pieces of carpet that is secure and will remain so for the life of the material, and to create a seam that is aesthetically pleasing. Best = invisible

In the end you have to create a seam that you can sell. If he can sell that- more power to him.

  • Moron

  • wheres YOUR carpet video mr. now it all?

  • Yea he is right. He is cutting through the loops using a straightedge on the burbur. This will fray it and it won't look good at all!! ..you can either follow in between the rows with your usual utility knife. Or you can do it with the seaming knife he has..but first you have to open up the rows..I use a flathead screwdriver..than you follow the line with the knife...usually very easy.

  • katie1987xxx--Coward ur a Monster .._ _

  • thanks for the help, ur kinda cute too!

  • katie1987xxx--shut the fuck up monster ,,stop selling out humans for a paycheck coward !

why do u hate humans so much do u think using

166,000 Nagasaki bombs worth of depleted uranium ammunition a day is a joke well thats just one bomb manufacture ,thats declassified main stream news monster !!!

  • beside the fact that you can pull a strand out to the end that help you follow the line

  • i can freehand better than that ye ha

  • ET phone home! Hello, Mcfly?!

  • sorry he has seam sealer im just used to applying it BEFORE YOU SEAM THE CARPET TOGETHER. is this guy a retard?

  • wtf is this guy doing no tractor no seam sealer but has ten tool boxs to hold down his shity seam or is that so the customer doesnt see it!

  • that join should have gov health warning

  • This was very helpful. Thank you!

  • its not the dull knife blade that ruions a job its you .look no glue on the tray must be his first time seaming. what fuck 6 inch tape with a 4inch iron .i think this guy learned how to seam from the prize out of the cracker jack box

  • wrong!

  • what a terrible display of making a seam. never cut a loop or berber carpet with a straight edge always use your top cutter by finding the romwith either a screwdriver or i find a ball point pen works very well

  • no techniqe or skill what so ever!!! a sraight edge is for the back side OF THE CARPET. only moron!! with the RIGHT INSTALLER YOU SHOULD NEVER SEE THE SEAM .where in the hell is your tractor at thats a pretty important tool for seaming because that tool pushes to glue into the backing of the carpet..PEOPLE NEVER PUT GLUE ON TOP OF THE SEAM. thats what seam sealer is for its done before the carpet is seamed togeather duhh retard .. im sure every body wants little hard spots al over the place....

  • hey dumb ass use a roe finder first then you use the top cutter||| ohhhh my god you are the biggest dumb ass of an installer that gives installers like me a bad name.you DONT HAVE A FUCKIN CLUE EVEN HOW TO SEAM AT ALL THAT CARPET SEAMS TOGEATHER LIKE A ZIPPER BECAUSE OF THE SLIGHT PATTERN AND THE DINAGIAL ROES!!!! all berbers have some form of a pattern if you were any type of an installer you should have menshened that first . before the iron was plugged in ...LEARN HOW TO SEAM PAL!!!!!!
