Women should have their reproductive rights protected - their right to choose whether or not they have sex. Let's focus on protecting that choice - and let every human have a change to use their potential.

Every beating heart huh? How bout deer? Which are as intelligent and more capable of suffering as a fetus if not more so. Sex is not a crime. Therefore, there is no reason someone should needlessly suffer a consequence for it.  It's a woman's choice to abort and that's how it should be. Thank you supreme court for rational thought.

Good question why don't we give a s$%& about killing deer? They feel and suffer. They experience fear. Deer however are not advocating women's rights nor do fetuses. Why you ask? Because they are uncaring perhaps? No. Because they haven't the mental capacity. I argue for women's rights because I'd hope that they'd argue for mine if the position was reversed. If my mom had an abortion it wouldn't matter to me because I wouldn't exist. People who don't exist don't worry too much.

Not ranting here but I honestly can't understand how we can justify tearing a fetus apart, limb from limb, when we know it has the capacity to feel. And this is done in the name of human rights? How can women rights groups - which traditionally has frowned upon a stronger person imposing its will on a weaker person - support tearing apart a completely defenseless human being? (DNA, heartbeat, brain activity - it is all there after 20days of pregnancy - a living human being).

@Tranaeh No, don't murder anyone. But, I do think once they are dead they are not going to be concerned with having died. Do you disagree? But people being concerned after they are dead about being killed is not the reason we don't murder people is it? Is it? The reason I don't murder people is because I empathize with them. I don't want to die. The thought of dieing causes me to suffer. Also the thought of my loved ones dieing causes me to suffer.

Yes, I understand that a dead person no longer worries - but why is it not okay to end the life of a 25 year old or 1 day old baby but it is okay to end the life of a preborn human who has all the same indicators of being human? I want a future so why would I assume a young child, baby or preborn would not want a future? Shouldn't I try to speak up for them if they cannot defend themselves?

Does that mean that it is okay for a mother to end the life of a severely disabled 2 year old because they depend on her body (working and providing food and shelter) for survival? It's her body right? If she doesn't want to feed the child, she should have the right to not work enough to provide for the child too? It seems like the same rational to me.

kausidya, your comment "Fetuses are not people.", is the dumbest thing I've ever read. You and every fetus have a complete set of chromosomes when you are a fetus. Nothing else (no DNA) is added from the point of conception (fertilization) to birth to hopefully a long productive life. Women who are pregnant with a baby (or fetus) have human babies when they give birth, never fish, never dogs, never lions, tigers nor bears. Woman who become pregnant have become pregnant with a human baby.

That is more violence. Countries that have taken abortion as the solution for crowding are huge human rights violators (China and forced abortion ends one life and terrorizes another). It is comparable to the atrocities committed in the slave trade - "can't feed em? throw em overboard." Its dead wrong.

But, it is a human with far less thought capacity, even physical perception than the animals I listed. So, if you want to make killing these "humans" illegal you should first make it mandatory that we all become vegetarians otherwise you make it pretty obvious you have some alternate agenda.

Even the animals are treated better than that. I've had two sons now - and I know that their unique personalities are already developing in the womb. They respond to familiar sounds, and react to touch. I know they can feel and perceive what is going on around them to some degree.

Abortion is Murder of an Innocent Unborn Child. Now abortion is controversal because it's killing another human being who has no means of defending themselves. I'm an American and I have the Right to Life. Tim Tebow is an American and he has the Right to Life and to Free Speech. Por-aborts need to think about what they are advocating when the advocate for abortion..they have to realize that they can only argue their point because their Moms didn't abort them.

But that is not true - sperm and ovaries only have half the chromosomes it takes to create a human being. A fetus is fully human - with a complete human DNA and after 21days a beating heart. On what basis can you claim that a fetus is not human? So far I can only see that you claim that a fetus is not human because they are not as fully developed. It is like saying a 2yr old is not human because they can't do math - it doesn't change the fact they are human.
