  • how do you keep that guitar in place wth is going on lol

  • This is lovely, and now I want to play it too.

    :)

  • So soft yet so powerful.

  • There are plenty of guitarists on youtube with flawless technical skill, but very few who seem capable of interpreting a piece into the abstract and undefinable language of music. Not only do you clearly broadcast your talent in your videos, you also make your intuitive grasp of dynamics clear. It's a rare gift, and it's inspirational to see and hear.

  • While this piece is quite beautifully rendered and Per Olov an excellent guitarist it appears many of the rests have been omitted which perhaps form an important part of the study. The dynamics might also be more closely adhered to as they form an important of the development of muscle control. Although I'd still like to play that well

  • Tu interpretacion y sonido are excepcionales. Eres un gran artista!!

  • I just love your version of this piece, very well played with lots of feeling and heart. Which in my humble opinion is excactly the way M. Carcassi would of played it.

    Best Wishes,

    Rob

  • Dear Rob,

Thank you. I loved your Carcassi Op. 59 too.

    Hugs,

    Per-Olov

  • Thank you for this truly inspiring performance, and especially for showing that the end can be played in the III to VII position, instead of I position, which I have used before. Playing the whole ending melody phrase on the 2nd string gives more unity in sound, was that what determined your choise of positions here?

    Kind regards Björn

  • so beautiful and lovely!

  • Like small, soft church bells quietly calling me to worship. Thank you my friend.

  • Lovely timing. Great drama, tone and volume control make for a perfect rendition. Greetings and respect from New Zealand.

  • extremely beautiful!!

  • very beautiful

  • This is by far the best video of this piece. Do you know of any website I could find free sheet music for it? I think I would like to play this for a college audition.

  • Beautifull quality, in playing and in sound!! 5*****greetings and respect from Bram D., Holland

  • Whenever I"m not sure how something should sound I check out your interpretation. Excellent!

  • :-) that is nice to know!! Thank you1 Please keep listening. and stay tuned! :-)

    Per-Olov

  • @nevetstdlob I do exactly the same. He is a teacher of thousands of online classical guitarrists, I don't think he is aware of how awesome he is.

  • Per-Olov: you couldn't ask for anything else in life. You play beautifuly well. I wish I had this harmony inside.

  • Thank you. I am very happy you think so. I am sure you can play this if you put your mind to it! Give it a try!

    Per-Olov

  • Muito lindo. Very beautiful!

    parabéns! congratulations!

  • Hi, Peo! That was great, thank you. This will be the next carcassi study I will try. Since as you say it doesnt seem to be very difficult technically, I think I will manage it. I will try to follow your tempo and copy if I can your expression. Cavatina proved very dificult for me, it will have to wait. Thanks again.

  • I love the way you bring out the wonderfully Schubertian side of this study.

Watching and listening this has made me go back to it after 20+ years.

  • Thank you for playing. I will use your videos as a reference for my guitar studies. And you know, my wife, a musicologist graduated from a conservatory, likes the way you play very much. And she prefers your recordings over others.

  • well done Peo lovely tempo which brings out the best in this piece.(speed merchants take note )

  • you are a master, lovely, no comment.

  • Simplemente hermoso amigo Per-Olov Felicidades !!!

    Saludos de nuevo desde México

  • briiliant

  • Wow, you're tone is excellent

  • Thank you. I am happy you like my tone. I work hard on that too :-)

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • Since all lefts are reversed, I guess you are all right! Pun intended...:)

  • :-) THAT was a good one!! :-)

Thanks a lot! for the smile you gave me.

    Per-Olov

  • How come my guitars don't sound so good? Is it the acoustics, or do you microphone your guitar?

  • Hi! I think it's a combination of all. And that I have played for 40 years daily!

    Keep playing!

    Per-Olov

  • It sounded lke a Piano in the beggining! Nice!!

  • Question. Do you record music? And are you a touring classical guitarist. Becuase if you are not you should be!

  • Thank you for listening to me. Yes, I have mad a soslo CD this February. Please go to villaluisarecords(com) to find more info. I will play more concerts in the near future.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • I always return to you to hear how a piece should be played. Technique, sensitivity of touch, interpretation, you have it all.

    Thank you so much!

  • Thank you for listening and "using" me!

    Per

  • Excellent job once again. Listening to your interpretations of these classics has inspired me to fuse my own emotion into my playing.

    Eric

  • Hi, I have listened to you playing this study so many times, perhabs easy to play but so beautiful! Now my kids&wife are out playing in the snow, I´m alone in the house with a glas of wine, listening to your music. Life is great!

    H. Johan

  • LOL! Hear! Hear! Life is great! I am honored you listen to me. Yes, this is maybe easy to play but soooo darn hard to make good!

Thanks a lot! Now; please join your wife in the snow!! :-)

  • Just lovely Peo. A touch as light as air, to be sure. It does look like a strain on the left hand though...

    Thanks for sharing!

    jon

  • Hi Jon,

Thank you! Hope you are well. Long time, no see...

Well, it's not such a strain really...

  • Dear Peo,

Once again, your sensitive musicianship takes a student study to the level of art. I have a brief question. It seems you do not use a footstool. Are you using the "A-Frame Support" recommended by Christopher Berg? If not, how do you support the instrument?

    Best,

    John

  • Dear John,

Thank you. All music can be beautiful. Even a simple study as this. Appreciated.

I use a GITANO it's great! inexpensive, light, small, steady. And, above all, good for the back when you play for hours every day. trekel(de) has it in Europe.

    Per

  • Thanks Peo.

I agree about music and so-called "student" studies. I'll see if Gitano is availible. I'm in the USA. I've always used a foot stool because that was the way I was trained in the seventies; it is hard to shift, but I believe in the principle of having both feet relaxed, allowing relaxation of all body muscles not engaged in playing. I was an Aaron Shearer "kid", so my technique is centered thus. Best, John.

  • amazing.

    amateur from uk here.

    my best regards

    please keep on post...

  • Thank you so much. I'm happy that you like my version og Carcassi. If played well, his music can be very nce.

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Where is my comment?!? Disappeared!

Anyway, I said that nobody can play this study like you!!!

And no, it's NOT too slow. You can play it more quickly, but it will change the general feeling about it.

Everybody said that it's awesome, delicious and so on, right?

    The perfection is here, period!

  • Thanks a lot Jean. I'm honoured by your words. Appreciated!

    Peo

  • Hey Peo:

Do you have this music on global edition?

  • Hi! No I don't. But you can find it for free anywhere. Try to make a search for the Royal Danish library. They have 1000 of sheet music form that time for free!!

    Good luck,

    Peo

  • The guitar has an inherent mystery within that this performance brings out wonderfully. I can feel the peace, humility, and deep sincerity in his playing.

  • Thank you for your kind words. Appreeciated! I think this is very difficult to play. More than the other Carcassi I have posted. It's so sensitive...

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Beautiful job. I play the piano and am just starting to learn the guitar. One day, I'm hoping to play pieces like this on the acoustic my dad gave me.

Keep up the good work! Love your videos.

  • Thank you! You keep it up too! OK?

    Deal?

    Peo

  • Deal!

  • This reminds me of a melody which issued from a music box I had as a child...

Why hard to play, Peo? The tempo keeping?

  • Nice! Like that!

Yes, it's hard beause every single note has to be just perfect. It's so sensitive. And the tempo too!

  • beautifully played thank you

  • I like your way of guitarplaying always; this piece I like very much because it`s so slow. Again 5 Stars from me.

  • Thank you! Some will say too slow but I like it like this. And I'm happy you do too!

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • hehe, "All lefts reversed", an amazing guitar player with a sense of humor, now thats awesome!

  • LOL! Thanks! I think humor is an important part of life... and music! If you too serious, it's difficult to be humble.

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • beautiful =]

  • Thank you! :)

    Peo

  • harika

  • this sounds sort of like a piano, lol

  • Thanks! A grate compliment!

    Peo

  • amazing... I need to bone up on doing some true classical music after watching this.

  • It´s beautiful. Nice that you play this simple study to show how great a guitar can sound, if you "play" the caps between every tone. Btw i love children too. My daughter love this kind of pieces.

  • Thanx! Appreciated! My love to your daughter.

    Peo

  • I can't believe anyone could listen to this and find fault with your performance. You turned a simple study piece into a piece of beautiful music. Carcassi would be proud.

  • Thanks! i wanted to comment on your videos but hat posted too many. I'll be back! (Terminator)

    Peo

  • wonderful! :-)

  • Music for children

  • I love children. And actually they like this piece very much! I have at least 6 pupils playing it at the age of 9 - 14. And they do one hell of a job with it :-)

    Thanks for commenting!

    Peo

  • Good feeling, I enjoyed!

  • Wonderful job, as usual, Mr. Kindgren! Keep it up!

  • januthin: thank you very much for your comment (and support) :-) I really too wondered if Jitpring actually counted the rests!? I will spend my time playing instead. Does anyone know if there really is 50 rests in this piece?

    Peo

  • I wonder, Jitpring, do you look up information so you can criticize others, or do you know these things off hand? If so, I would love to see your hands back up your mouth. People work hard at this, and they can interpret as they like. You seem to think the most rigid interpretation is always the best. You should have been a mathematician!

  • Carcassi included 50 eighth rests for the lower voices, along with 10 quarter rests for the melody. There are 50 melodic notes and NOT ONCE did Carcassi indicate that another voice should keep ringing underneath any one of them. Yet these rests are ignored here.

  • Dear Jitpring: Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. I can assure you, the rests where not ignored. I have practiced *with* all the rests and in MHO I think it sound silly and not very natural. It's a matter of taste and interpretation. And I'm not so sure Carcassi meant everyone of the rests to be silent... I would like to hear a recording with all the rests and if that can convince me it sounds better, I will admit it.

  • what a tool. wicked playing

  • I like your wonderful plucking with "economic" power!

  • Perfect

  • super nice! really enjoyed this!! please check out some of my original acoustic tunes when you time:)

    jim

  • Beautiful and your technique is perfect.

  • thanks! I think it's a bit too slow though... :-(

  • Yes it's too slow but played so beautifully.

  • not to slow at all....ok its slow compared to the original however its very musically shaped..speed has nothing to do with it its control.
