  • that's my jam right there.

  • @cubworld No offense, but I love this song. My point is all haole's aren't that bad. No excuse for the s*#theads that are. They give us HAOLES a bad name..???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @haolesteve11 haha. No worries. I'm half Haole and I'm one of the islanders that dont have a problem with haoles. I thought your comment was pretty funny.

  • Not bad for a haole........

  • @haolesteve11 LOL. Nice one Haole Steve. For reals though. This is the jam.

  • this is one of the pretties songs ever!

  • This is the kind of music that we should remember and expose our children to. Hip hop, rap, r&b all have a place. But this here is our culture. We need to pass it on to our children and our future. If not, Hawaii will become less of what we believe it is and more of the that government wants. I';m not a "Hawaii Sovereignty" sign waver or anything. I just feel that this song means to us locals what we want to pass on.

    Its only right her last hula dance be for her Daddy be this song.

  • how can you not sing along with this song

  • Tent camping at Waimanalo and Bellows Beaches . . . body surfing under a full moon in the warm water. I can still hear the sound of the grinding sand when my head when beneath the water. Walking back to the campfire, Hapa would always be playing . . .

  • you should put lyrics to this song.

  • Oh Links LS Clubhouse! : D Excellent Track!

  • Mahalo nui loa. Hapa. Hawaii. The music. The feeling. The people that made me there.

  • This album by Hapa was the winner of 6 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards including Album of the year. You don't have to be from Hawaii and understand the Hawaiian language to appreciate this beautiful music.

  • @MrAxelLF You are so right bradduh. Love this song; my x danced to this song...

  • =/////= I miss you home..

  • レイ、ピカケいい曲ですね。ハパのナンバーでレイ、ピカケが一番好きです。

  • Beautiful.. played it at my dads funeral and it will always have special meaning for me :)

  • @methoxyroxy Do you know the meaning behind the words?

  • @iCraacked

    Not really, because we never knew what he was saying since we don't speak Hawaiian.

  • I am a hawaiian who has never been to hawaii-this song makes me melancholy for a land and people I've never met. It speaks to my heart,thanks Hapa for bringing your aloha spirit to Santa Barbara. Lisa Leilani Hickerson

  • @Lisahickerson , you gotta listen to keali'i reichel's "kawaipunahele" , and you gotta go home, trust, evenfor a little bit, if youve ever felt like something is missing in your life, its because the islands are calling you home

  • One of my favorites from this Maui duo. The double strand lei with purple orchids and pikake is a spectacular lei, imho.

  • One of my two favorite songs of the islands.... Brings back some joyful tears. Le Pikake forever in my heart <3.

  • What a beautiful language to sing in. If this doesn't take the edge of your day I don't know what could.

  • This song helps me calm down after a bad day at work.

  • MISSIN' THE AINA RIGHT NOW. NEED TO GET MY SPIRIT BACK.

  • Picture 1955, moonlight picnics @ Hanauma Bay, beachboy pants, laughing friends, telling ghost stories around the campfire - a safer, happier time long gone by. I really like this group and its music - style and substance.

  • Can't wait till Hapa comes to Albuquerque next week...with uncle barry and nathan aweau...aloha...

  • I Love this song so much. It reminds me of my home back in Kauilua Oahu. I miss that place so much.

  • I remember when i moved to Cali more than 10 yrs ago i took all my local/hawaiian cds w/ me. No less than a year later someone stole a bunch of my cds including Keali'l Reichel and this one the Hapa cd. I was sooooooo mad! But ya' know what, I hope whoever stole it at the time they got to enjoy the sweet sounds of Hapa.....

    ~~~~~~~~~~~much ALOHA from the (808)state~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • My Kupuna use to sing this song to me every night(:
  • E ala mai 'o loko i ke kuhohonu o ke Aloha
  • This song is for my mother, Mona who passed away on April 25, 2010.
    She is and was an Ali`i to her `Ohana and her friends. A beautiful woman
    who graced the stage in her life with love and beauty.
    Your daughter,
    Moana ;) xo
  • I like this song...Brings back old memories,and its very relaxing
  • What a beautiful song. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up every time. ;)
  • Never mind, found it!! Silly me, I should have checked "related videos" (on the right) first. Ku`u lei Awapuhi is the name of the song I was after. Apparently it`s an old but a goodie folk song. I certainly enjoy Hapa`s rendition very much. So thank you "mercutioa1964" for my favorite song and of course "Polynesian Mele" for the rest of the songs off the album.
  • Thank you for sharing this group`s lovely songs. I wonder if you also have an old favourite track of mine off the same album that features Kenny Loggins.
  • His voice surely tells the story..
  • ahh i love it ^^
  • Omg! I had this cd when I was little.. Sad thing was, I only heard this song one time & I loved it.. But, I lost that cd! LOL I been looking for this song all my bloody life! LOL!!! hahaha ia fa'afetai tele lava..
