  • Hi Geoff, thanks so much for posting this. My great great great grandfather Isaac b. abt 1796 was a banksman in Littleborough. I'm visiting the town in Oct. this year 2010 and hope to see some of the things you pointed out.

  • I spent 3 years in the police force in Littleborough from 1952 to 55 when I left for Australia. The names of the police members in the time were Insp Hickson, Sgt Halhead ,Sgt Roocroft, PC's Isaac Taylor(killed in 1956) PC Liptrot, PC Tweddle, PC Schoefield, I was PC Kirk. I knew a family called Hollingworth who lived at 67 Todmorden Rd and used to take their daughter Barbara out. If anyone has any info re these people I would like to make contact
