  • If you cannot afford a philips with ambilight, I just started another alternative with the same effect on indiegogo.

  • This ''technology' so to speak was introduced in the '50's from Sylvania... called HaloLight.

  • phillips in my living room and in my gaming room FTW!!!!

  • Now why would you want it to light up like that all around the edge? Is this to hide the low static contrast ratio you get with digital displays?

  • Whats the light at the back of the tv?

  • I found this video difficult to masturbate to.

  • i prefer the glow coming out of the back.

  • philips is way better than sony

  • 1963 philips introduced the compact cassete same year introduce the first tape recorder line 405.1 el34001978 introduced laserdisc.1979 the video 200 btterthan beta and vhs but a commercial failure.1982 the first cd..

1991 the cdi.1992 the digital compact cassette1995 atari jaguar cd add on for atari.1999 philips introduced the super audio cd..2000 the first dvd by philips..2004 mirror tv technology.and in 2006 the bluy ray in parthnership with sony....philips found in 1891, sony in 1946

  • TV perfect :O

  • I have a Aurea 2 and it isnt like that, the lights reflects on the wall and isn't displayed at the sides of tv =s

  • @tnttnc only 1 explanation for it: you've been scammed..

  • Sony Ruls , Philips Suck

look at the light.....it make me crasy

  • @Sirnielson yeah that the reason why sony uses samsumg screen panels and LG buy them from philips, philips , samsung and lg , even panasonic and toshiba have better tv s than sony, open a sony tv and u see a big samsumg logo behind the screen panel, sony sucks

  • @Sirnielson Phillips is mediocre, and Sony is charging you for a name...

  • Oh no... its dyson o.o

  • I have one question: Why?

  • @Shroomsterdam Look up Sylvania HaloLight from the 1950's... you will find a good read on why they think ambient lighting is a good idea.

  • BEST TV's ARE SONY BRAVIA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SPgamerPS3 made with samsung components including the screen panel.....

  • o kurwa to ejst zajebiste!!!!! LEGIA WARSZAWA MISTRZ

  • Why does anyone need this amount of detail? Do you want to see all the hairs up a nose? I think it is huge waste of money.

  • @AdlerChalk YES I DO!!! LOVE IT

  • @tenchinan You are a DUMB ASS SHAMSUNG SUCKER !

    DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • we need a 3D LED Aurea Ambilight TV !! :D

  • damm this is old lol so wut do the new one look like

  • where can i get this tv at its it out yet

  • wen do this tv comin out in the us an where can i get it

  • @MrGucci212 this video is from 2008......

  • that would do my fucking head in lol

  • Comment removed

  • What's the point?

  • @zacharyfox911 its giving you a much wider experience and more realistic, and also, it protects your eyes from being fucked up if you watch tv in a completely dark room.

  • I think it looks awesome but i think it would be quite distracting.

  • thats so sick

  • Philips has the best picture quality images and is the most beautifull design of TV´s! I like the AmbiLight invent it´s a very wonderful experience for watching TV!

  • Phillips TVs have excellent picture quality, they are 1 of the best manufacturers, alongside panasonic.

i own a samsung but i repair tvs so iv pretty much seen them all and i can safely say that phillips are near the top.

I see people saying they would rather have a larger screen than pay for this but what you're not realising is that if your only sitting 5 meters from the tv then a 42" is perfect. Getting a 60" in an average sized living room is pointless, it just makes you see imperfections

  • that would annoy me

  • puta basuraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I prefer to see... picture QUALITY ...!!!... instead of that silly frame .... in stores...! WITHOUT HD SIGNAL !!!! IS THAT POSSIBLE ???

  • Isn't it funny how Aurea rhymes with DIARRHEA

  • I have one, its so beautifull, its also damn relaxing to watch

  • they did shitty with ambi light but still they are no 1 in lcd tv-s what you geet for your money ther are No1. Sony is disaster LG dont have smart picture gadgets so its not good sharp is ok. I have cinemas so I have profesional deformation and can not look or watch shitty picture so buy philips and you will watch good picture.

  • @jissim101 you have no clue what your talking about. philips pull off the most realistic, sharp, and enveloping pictures in tv. samsung, sony, and sharp are all more interested in making their TVs bright and as fake as possible. panny doesn't even make lcd/led tvs you are a freaking retard go back to selling your crappy samsung led tvs...

  • looks fantastic but just a gimmiick it wont enhance the viewing experience it just distracts fronm the screen & at a reduced price of £2,500 bloody hell you can buy a 60 in for that ok it wont have ambilight, but id rather have a larger screen for the money

  • I think it's useless, why not better have a bigger screen..screen must have dark edges for comfort, agree with "sofian268".

  • omg.. Computers eat more, in a normal computer now days it eats 300 Watts. AND when i last checked Plasma and LCD technologi just uses 175 Watts off power so... and led btw that are the ambilight just use 8 to 12 watts

  • I cant seem to find this anywhere! what sizes does it come in? any ideas of prices?

  • Go on the philips website( UK)...

  • Ambilight takes only a few watts... it's all led.

  • whats amblight ?

  • @Dahwe The ambient light would be all pink, I'd pick a 100" projected screen instead.

  • i aint like it because when u watch to a normal tv ur eyes are focused on the schreen now ur getting dry because they elso focusing on the edge of it

    The desing is beautiful

  • @sofian268 u can turn the back light off, so u wont be distracted.

  • i couldnt focus on whats on the screen if i tried! this is really dumb in my opinion, theres no real point, and i bet the bezel lights use about half the power of the screen itself. either way thats the most distracting thing in the world!

  • you're an idiot ok ?

  • if ur gonna be a hard-ass over the net at least try to prove me wrong you immature little faggot

  • beautiful!!

  • Distracting frame!!

  • haha that's wht i thought...but i'm sure they have an option to turn it off if your not too keen on it

  • i have one. its damn nice

  • I Wouldnt buy it I rather the black screens

  • me so want one :(

  • Wouldn't want that as a living room TV, but it is pretty cool.

  • likeit

  • its so tendelysing höhö :P

  • Remember those stupid "disco" record-player consoles with the disco lights embedded into the speakers? They would turn colors while you'd shake your ass-smelling butt. This thing is gonna be embarassing to own 10 years from now. Pointless shit, this thing is!

  • i just bought a new computer monitor which looks a lot like this one

  • i would choose the philips cinema if it comes to ambient, this one is too direct the border is very anyoing but at least thied to renew the technology !!

  • i know that light wud distract u from the film u wudnt be able to watch it in peace

  • I know that it dont. We got an older version of the Ambilight and you dont really think about it,.

  • What a stupid idea.

  • horrible

  • i don't get it. shouldn't you be watching what's on the screen instead of what's framing it?

  • There is actually alot of facts and information/calculations behind the idea of ambilights, the general point is to make the tv easier on the eyes, and you can actually feel it when you look at it. Your eyes do not get tired as fast and so on..

  • porn would look cool on that set

  • @pieboyaz yep! porn would glow in here!!

  • @pieboyaz i agree

  • phillips nao presta cuidado minha tv paguei uma nota e nao durou 5 anos

  • my mate has one of these and as cool as it is, its completely distracting...

  • lol that's maybe coolest looking tv ever

  • oh my god i want one

  • nicht gut^^

  • NÃO COMPRE TV LCD PHILIPS. SE QUER SABER O PORQUE, ME PERGUNTE. =

Do not buy philips lcd tv. if you want to know why, I ask.

  • Why?

  • Why?

  • porque?

  • why?

  • I have a 52'' LCD model 7400 with the the plastic frame. does that have a light around it?

  • well if it has an ambilight function it does.. if not .. nope--

  • This is just distracting and annoying.

  • ive got a 42" Philips LCD with Ambilight and i love it. if it gets annoying just turn it off. but i find in a dark room it makes the tv and the image a little easier on the eyes.

  • Yea i got the next verison up exatly the same but more advanced!!

  • annoying lights

  • theres no difference between ambi light and regular full/true hd on the phillips besides the lights which yeah are cool... but can also get annoying lol so whats point?

  • Looks really cool, but I think in a few years the cool factor will drop, and the tacky factor will rise.

I'll stick with my non glowing bravia, but I wouldn't mind having one of these for a game room.

  • if you switched from a bravia to a phillips, i would personally slap you in the face.

  • yea!

  • Yea great tv this is i got the 52Inch verison!!!!!!! LOVE IT

  • its cheaper to buy leds from ebay n stick em on the bk of the tv lol

  • whats the use of this.. light? i would frankly just find it annoying.

  • My friend actually has one of these. They are pretty cool actually. When you play games or watch movies, it kind of pulls you in. It's pointless in bright areas though.

  • According to Phillips this technology results in less stress for the eyes due to the contrast changes so it should be less tiring for example to watch a film in the night.

  • ok, thats an acceptable reason.

    But still.

  • u dunno how nice it is..

we have an old ambilight LCD here. it´s very nice. complete dark room, only tv on.. better than everything one the market at this time we bought it.

on friday it will come the 52" lfp 9703.. it´s amazing with the spectra 3.. search youtube for videos..

  • What waste!People buy LCD because picture quality not because F... Light.

    3000 Euro!!!Never

  • 3000€ in Saturn / Germany

  • Where can i buy this in the USA? Message me...

  • google it mate.

  • a mate of mine has one of these, footy games look shithot spider

  • this is on my Christmass wish list, someone go buy me a tv

  • does it come with 100hz / 200hz thing ?... is it suitable to play game ps3 with it ?... any added experience... TQ

  • damn glass??? thats gotta be expensive.

  • .. and dangerous to carry... =0

  • these tv would be nice to have in a club but not a home how annoying would these shit be during a football game ill stick with a samsung

  • Yes, but, you can switch ambilight off so you can watch the tv normally, like your samsung.

  • ohh really then yeah im getting one

  • is this gonna be available in the US? because im looking for it on philips website and i cant find it

  • its in stores now??????? im from kuwait

  • who fucking cares where you're from

  • hahahaah ;D

  • what is the full name of the Tv....and its full HD?

  • Yes, It's fullHD and has HDdigital TV receiver included. the full name is Philips Aurea II 42PFL9903H
