  • You use it along with 4 or 5 more to plug weld the cocking tube in.

  • what do you do with the hole you drilled on the forward end?

  • Where can I get a bending jig like that? I work for an 07 FFL as a builder and I'd like to start building HK types. The bolt drop test would be an automatic fail if I tried that with any of the century HK type builds we've had in the shop.

  • I'd love to make CETMEs and HKs, but I don't have the money to buy an 8000 dollar mandrel.

Are there any alternatives for straightening out receivers?

  • @DanTheVikingr

Yep, buy a finished receiver through your FFL.

  • how much money does it take to get the things needed to do this?

  • nice ima do this..

  • You should consider making a small production run of the excellent AR-18 design which is also made in the same way. Saw the original patent run out with all the drawings. There were even a LMG version with belt fed action on it.

It's such as shame the AR-18 never took off because now people have come full circle by putting gas piston uppers on their DI AR-15's. Makes you wonder.

  • same question, where can you find the dies?

  • Where do you get the dies and mandrils?

  • nice

  • Anymore videos on your CETME build?

  • @ArmsBuilder

All of my builds are documented on weaponsguild.

  • great video!!! the AK flats look a lot easier to bend tho. :-)

  • Have you ever measured one of your receivers to see if it matches H&K dimensions?

  • Great video thanks for sharing that with us!

  • nice work, where did you get that die? would like to get one myself. email me please.

  • very nice! could u please tell me who made the jig, and mandrel? i find it hard to bench bend them. 5 Stars, Happy Holidays.

    Ben.

  • Where can I find the jigs you are using for doing this?

  • you are one crazy builder

  • who made that jig and mandrel?

  • how many tons of pressure are you actually using to bend this?

  • Just for poop's & giggles, how much for all the tooling? Ball park would be fine.

  • This is so cool where did you get the shapeing kit...

  • Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing.

  • do you sell the uppers?

  • @hambone950 ,

Only a licensed FFL holder can sell receivers. But anyone who is legally allowed to own a firearm can make their own, for their own use. I do not have an FFL.

  • @Holescreek

Could you make it with out the dies and what not, then just buy a parts kit?

  • @hambone950

Yes you can make them without the dies. Google search "bench bending the cetme flat".

  • where did u get that mandrel??

  • so do you have to do all kinda of welding and stuff? I would like to see more vids of you building one of these. if you can do that.

  • Cetme/HK rifles do require welding but nothing real fancy. A couple of short beads on the receiver and plug welding the barrel trunnion and cocking tube in and then another short bead around the cocking tube to receiver seam.

  • Had to break up my reply into parts: I've finished my 3 builds up already for the year and am out of kits. I built a 16" barreled version with a collapsible stock, a standard issue version cetme with wood furniture, and a quite elaborate long barreled version with aluminum hand guard, free floated barrel, and adjustable aluminum butt stock.

  • All of the builds are documented in the cetme forum on weaponsguild, join up (free) and search on "holescreek". I would like to do a series of videos on a complete build if cheap kits ever come available again.

  • @Holescreek Nice Work!! Do you know where I could find the dies and tools for bending an H&K 94 (mp5) receiver? Bought a genuine H&K parts kit dirt cheap years ago and have just now found a flat receiver, but no tools or dies.

  • this is better than hotrod TV

  • Excellent video Nice Jig!

Do you have the dimensions I'd need to make a jig for bending an MP5 flat?

I need to bend my ORF MP5 flat... Know of a place where I could find more info on the MP5 receiver dimensions so I can machine & weld together my own jig?

  • @cobannie ,

You will find answers to your questions after joining the weaponsguild builders site. There are several there bending ORF flats for MP5s. There is also a loaner jig available there.

  • Nicely done job. Where would one get a flat at to start. Any help would be great. yl

  • @ylism

Flats can still be purchased from Ohio Rapid Fire for $29.95 and elsewhere for $80-$180. The differences in price reflect the amount of work the user has to do to finish the receiver. The flat in this video is an ORF flat. Some minor sizing of holes with a drill, and some Dremel work are required to complete.

  • @Holescreek-- Thank you for the info. In thought of making a dummy rifle for a rifle case. There does seem to be a lot of work involved, and this is just one part you show.Would be a lot of fun thou ether way. Real or dummy.Best, yl

  • great video, what ton press is that, or what is needed?

  • 12 ton, Harbor Freight press is plenty.

Drawings have been posted in part in the weaponsguild forum. Do a search and join to see them.

  • I like to find the jig and if your making them can you make them to sell. I know jigs are not FFL stuff.

How about putting the blue print of the jig up some where and letting us know.

I might buy a Cetme already done but would like to build if I could.

  • How does one go about acquiring these jigs? Are there any licenses or anything like that involved?

  • Bending jigs are usually home made, as this one was. No licenses are required to make a jig or to bend a flat(s) for your own use. It is illegal to bend a flat for someone else without an FFL.

  • these receivers are more complicated than bending a completely flat ak receiver. these have contours that have to keep in order for the carrier to cycle. not as forgiving as building an ak

  • do they make flats with laser cuts so you can bend them with hand tools?

  • Never heard of such a thing. What difference would laser cutting make on bending?

  • The laser cuts provide "fault lines" that give the person more leverage during the bending process.

They make AK flats with these laser cuts, and you can bend them with hand tools, and then just weld them.

I've only seen such flats on gunbroker for AK and AMD65 type series.

  • I would love to find out more about that jig.

  • This jig is awesome, where can i find one or where can i send my HK MP5 flat to get it to hk specs.

  • good stuff keep the vids comming
