  • No more bird friendly than any other turbine. Ridiculous claim.

  • "bird friendly"? Does it increase the IQ of passing birds?

  • @catastrophuc Of course it increases the IQ of passing birds. Too bad it doesn't increase the IQs of people commenting on YouTube.

  • @miscbeep Nicely done on that comeback, haha

  • Yeah, well, did you see the guy with the solar powered frisbee? That guys really onto something.

  • what is the program you are using to create the animation? please reply, pleaseeeeeeeeee

  • @tedo1995geo Solid Works

  • If we ran the two rotors in opposite directions couldn't we generate twice the power? Theoretically, anyway

  • @jbrun009 Yes and no but far more no than yes.

  • 360 solar :) max180

  • Wrong ! just a computer generated dream. No? then how about a video of a real one working. this is no different than the old days where everything works on paper, but now it,s on a crt.

  • how long do you think the clutch will last?

  • @TheJimmax

    in depend on the clutch

  • When the wind speed increases over 4 m/s a simple centrofugal clutch connects outer rotor to the common shaft.

  • You are right only in the case of fast RPM at high wind speed. The center tornado turbine is jet augmented. At moderate to high wind speed TSR of tornado rotor is about 3 tumes lower than TSR of Darrieus rotror but the diameter of tornado is 3 tumes lower as well. That is why RPM of Darrieus and RPM of tornado jet rotor are approximately same, e.g. no need of disconncing clutch. At low wind speed (1.5-4 m/s) inner tornado rotates alone.

  • I would also consider adding a one-way clutch between your center rotating section and the outer rotating section. This will remove the drag from the center section on the outer section between wind gusts and allow the mass of the outer section to freewheel.

  • I like the concept of using multiple technologies. If you place gravel under the PV panels and metal skirting extending outward then you will be able to increase the amount of heat under your system and increase the airflow up through the center. Just an idea.
