Mile's comment "Take the MF out of your mouth" was said on the Kind of Blue sessions for the recording of 'So What'. Modal jazz was a big departure harmonically from the traditional chord progressions of Jazz and it was difficult to end a melodic sequence due to no solid resolutions. John was confused as to how to end his solo properly.

WE DONT KNOW what caused him to stop... he had a DEEPLY PROFOUND RELIGIOUS experience, that he did not go into detail. other than it was an epiphany...
