@MrBicycle15 it's not going to show you the point I am trying to make. if you want a turntable for scratching, don't use a belt drive turntable. I bought this just for the sole purpose of being able to convert my vinyl into a digital media format. Didn't have any plans to use it at parties ever...and I mean EVER.
@MrBicycle15 there is a different feel between a belt drive turntable and a direct drive turntable. even if you change the drive belt, it will still be a belt drive turntable. You should test it out and see and feel the difference.
@001ihelper I suggest you ask that question to the American Audio product support forum. But I would think not possible...maybe an external hard drive.
I wouldn't use it for mixing...its a belt drive turntable. unless I was in a bind, and had to use a turntable, and didn't have my spare technics, or my dual deck cd players...I'd consider it...but this was purchased strictly for the purpose of converting vinyl to digital media.
instead of buying this turntable it would have been a better solution to just buy an audio interface & hooking up your mixer & techs to it..or even a gemini ikey.
Dude, how did you get your turntable to assemble itself!!! Can you do a video teaching us how to use the force!!! LOL...
Seriously though, I've been eyeing this turntable for a while. I have close to 2000 vinyls that i would love to transfer to mp3. I wonder if this sub 200.00 turntable is up for the task? How has it held up for you? Do you use it a lot? Great Video. Nice editing.
its doing the job, and if there is anything that can help me convert from vinyl to mp3 better than this right now...I will most definitely let you know. Its just a matter of waiting for the song to finish playing and you know what happens when you start converting a hype jam...u gonna feel like doing a set and there goes the project...again ;-)
i like the idea of usb directly to computer but the only draw back is that it records it to 128 kbps MP3 files. thats good for an ipod or mp3 players. but for mobile dj play back in a hight end system is not good..is there any other turntables out there like this that record in a highter bit rate?
I think 128 is perfect considering the original source. I understand these machines can pick up sound as high as 12khz so anything over 128 is just wasted disc space. Also do the research, and the actual bit rate is just one factor that goes into a high quality mp3 file.
Jasper, practice and enjoy your new toy! I think you got a great piece of kit there!
hey jasper cantt you just record from turntable to laptop threw mic jack? because im looking at turntables right now but also have some vinyl that i want to backup as mp3 or wav file but i dont want 2 buy turn tables and on top of that later buy one of theis or the numark one
I used to have a turntable connected to a mixer, then the output from that mixer into the line-in of my sound card to record vinyl. I have a buddy who has the usb numark turntable and its plugs into the usb port and can record sound that way as well. I like this way to record directly to a usb memory key, and you don't need speakers cause there is an option to switch the output to line as opposed to a phono output and they provide an adapter from rca to female headphone jack.
worst cartridges ever for skracting

it shipped with the ability to record mp3's at 192 kbps, and there is an upgrade on the site to upgrade that to 256 kpbs
