I couldn't care less about webmail and access from phones.
What I want is a Notes API that doesn't require loading JNI. The Notes DLLs crash all the time, at least if it were running under a JVM it wouldn't crash out the entire application.
Also if they ported the remainder of the application to Java, they wouldn't have to answer questions about 64-bit support, because it would Just Work on a 64-bit JVM.

I'm talking about how sometimes Notes' native library will crash with an access violation, and how that would not happen if they were to rewrite the thing in pure Java.
