  • @dkpygman

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • Where do you get your washi paper? Most places I check online have prints and patterns and I like the solids you're using here.

  • amazing!!! but how did u make the smaller parts that u put in the rose? is it the same way making the rose but smaller paper?

  • @frisco0511

Yes, the method of folding is the same but with smaller paper. The sizes of paper to be used are indicated in 0:57. Thanks for watching :-)

  • @ireneblchua thank you soo much!! :D

  • on the step where you fold the petals over the small triangles, well the second petals the the last one i cant get them to fold over without riping the paper could you explain that part a little better ?

  • @ramirezjorge91

The folding method for the five different sizes of square paper are the same as demonstrated in 0:58. When you bring the back flaps over to the front as in 2:23 & 2:37 you have to pull it carefully. Thanks for watching :-)

  • this is amazing! i love these so much and they are so beautiful!!!!!!

  • @evagrace185

  • @crystalye1980

Thanks for your support. Most appreciated :-)

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • Omg thank you now I know what to make for my mom on valentines day

  • @tinkie38

Thanks for watching and happy folding :-)

  • hi Irene! thanks for your comments about the paper..

recently I finish my first rose with Crepé paper, it's wonderful!;D.. here in Barcelona (spain) I dont know where I can buy Washi paper.. do you know any shop online where I can buy it?..

you say me that you buy washi paper roll cost $2, which are the measures of the roll?

thanks a lot for your time!;D

  • @iMACinacion

The dimension of the roll is 55cm x 80 cm and you will need to cut to the size/dimension you need. Thanks for watching :-)

  • This video is by far the best i've seen so far! :D can you get the wire and leaves and floral tape besides the washi paper from daiso as well??

  • @celinex4

The floral tape and leaves are brought from a Arts & Crafts shop. Thanks for watching :-)

  • ty for the tutorial

  • @kjy333

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • @kjy333 Very elegant with only simple techniques

  • @kjy333

Thanks for watching. Appreciate your comment :-)

  • Beautiful! Btw, are those measurements "inches squared"?

  • @Drakath11

Yes, they are in inches . Thanks for watching :-)

  • Mind Blown o_O

  • at 3:31 you show the folded blossoms... i'm guessing that they all start of as different sizes of paper?

also i can't really shop so i'm depending on notebook paper, which will make it different (white) which i'd like to see anyways, but the material doesn't matter, does it?

  • @macfreak18

At 0:54 you will see the dimensions of the square paper used. I recommend the use of washi paper as it is natural and does not tear easily but the type of paper you wish to use is individual preference. Thanks for watching :-)

  • @ireneblchua thanks :) i'll let you know if the notebook paper works well

  • @macfreak18

Good luck. Look forward to seeing your creation :-)

  • @ireneblchua well, there's a lot of wrinkles that will be involved... and i don't think i'm gonna do any more than 2 in case of tear, but it can be pulled off. lol i'll see if i can get red construction paper or so, but the idea of white isn't bad.

anyways, i still kinda like the way it looks, so thanks for the folding techniques :)

  • That's amazing how beautiful they look and the tutorial looks relatively simple compared to other ones on youtube. Wow!!! Very nicely done

  • @tlg151

Thanks for your kind comments. Most appreciated :-)

  • hi Irene, your work is wonderful.. thanks a lot!..

we can do your rose whit any washi paper? I would ask you if you know if exist semi-transparent washi paper..

at last, do you know how many money cost washi paper? It's possible buy a roll?

    thanx again!

  • @iMACinacion

There are many types of washi paper. You may wish to check it out on the web. I brought mine from Daiso at S$2 per roll. Thanks for watching :-)

  • can i still do this with regular construction paper?

  • @Princessbyatch88

When you reverse fold in 2:23 it may tear. Thanks for watching :-)

  • @ireneblchua whats the best website to find washi paper?

  • @Princessbyatch88

I do not shop online so am unable to advise any reliable sources. If you can't find washi paper you may wish to try using crepe paper. Thanks again for your support :-)

  • so awesome... thank you for posting this... love it

  • @crazyconnie06

Thank you for watching. Appreciate your comment & support :-)

  • I MADE IT !!!!!!!!! WOOOO!

thank you, this is an amazing tutorial! i hope to watch more of your tutorials.

this is such a simple model to make it is by far the best of it level

  • @samdgamer

Thanks for watching. Appreciate your comment and support :-)

  • I know you have gotten this question a lot but I have been trying to buy Washi Paper online and have been having no luck :/ any site you can suggest at all?

  • @americanjumpingbeen

I'm sorry I can't suggest any reliable website to you as I do not shop online. You may wish to try using crepe paper. Thanks for watching :-)

  • I have a question. If i want to make a larger flower, how sure i expand and contract the paper size?? what's the rate of the paper size??

  • @x2u3nm41985

If I want to make a larger flower, for example 1½ time the size indicated in the tutorial I would x 1.5 ie 6" sq x 1.5 = 9" and so on..... Hope this answers your question and thanks for watching :-)

  • Can you do this to a pencil ?

  • @YangL06

It's a great idea...am sure your can use your creativity to try it out. Good luck :-)

  • wow it was much easier to make then i thought it was going to be

also, thanks a bunch for uploading this video

  • @superluckyangelstar

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • WOW =) very good! =) also thanks for the tips about the paper . . . been having trouble with ripping when folding over!

  • @MegaFizzy123

    :-)

  • esta exelente gracias se la regalare a una persona muy especial para mi GRACIASSSS!!!

  • @rodolfo5543

Thanks for your kind comment. Most appreciated :-)

  • Also, if you are having trouble because you don't have crepe or washi paper then all you have to do is take some regular copy paper, soak it in a basin for about one second on each side, crumple it(not too much), flatten it and let it dry. it's a really good substitute if you are eager to create this rose.

  • @mcm3760

Thanks for sharing your knowledge :-)

  • Hey i have a question is crepe paper and washi paper like tissue paper? Also does craft stores like hobby lobby have some?

  • @monkeyflying989898

Crepe paper is tissue paper that has been coated with sizing and then creped to create gathers. It can be used to make paper flowers and other paper sculpture. Washi is japanese rice paper and comes in different grades. It is tough and has a soft effect. I can't advise on hobby lobby. Thanks for watching :-)

  • @ireneblchua thanks and sorry but i have another qestion. is easyer to minipulate and fold than normal paper and origami paper?

  • @monkeyflying989898

Are you referring to washi paper? It's not difficult to fold and it does not tear especially when needed to turn over as compared to normal paper. Hope this helps :-)

  • This is amazing! Bravo!

  • Not exactlly origami (using glue) but looks beautiful and SOOOOOO much easyer :) Thanks for the video my girl is gonna love this

  • @monkeyflying989898

    o·ri·ga·mi/ˌôrəˈgämē/

    Noun:

The Japanese art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures.

  • thx. tried it with kitchen paper towels and im stunned by the results. :)

  • @leuchtstab

    Great! Thanks for watching :-)

  • Thank You very much for making this video! I used a creppe paper and it worked pretty well :-) I also coulnd´t find the leafs anywhere, so I had to make them on my own ... Anyway it´s a great present - thank You! R

  • @LoukotaCZE

    Thank you for watching :-)

  • @ ireneblchua a question as your piece of paper called paper

  • @abelardo5453

It is washi paper. Crepe paper also works well. Thanks for watching :-)

  • are u sure about ur measurements?? the 6" red paper seemed too small after folding.. it looked to be your smallest bud...

  • @BrainyNairb

The sizes of the square paper as indicated in the video are correct. Thanks for watching :-)

  • I made one in blue with regular paper, and it was good but it was better with crepe paper :D , it worked really well =D

  • @nanamihina

    Thanks for watching :-)

  • Works decently well using Tissue paper.... Not as good as yours though haha

  • @americanjumpingbeen

    Thanks for your support :-)

  • any possible chance this works with regular paper? I really hope so!!! This is absolutely amazing!!!

  • the whole video was good until i see you use glue on the origami

  • @animemily3027

That's part origami and part craft. There's nothing wrong with it! Thanks for watching anyway :-)

  • @ireneblchua as a craft there is nothing wrong and is beautiful, but as an origami stated in the title there is a problem. Origami should be folded from one or more pieces of paper without gluing, taping, ripping, and others that destroy the paper.... I love origami so it is kinda irritating to see this

  • @animemily3027

The book is titled “Origami Flowers” as u can see at 0:06 & the assembly, “curl end of wire & glue the smallest flower onto it” was from the book instruction. As with modular origami models, such as decorative balls like kusudama, the assembly technique differs in that glue & thread can be used. Tomoko Fuse, a renowned author of many origami books, such as “Kusudama Origami” uses this technique. I'm sorry u find gluing irritating. Thanks again for ur feedback :-)

  • Darn. The nearest Daiso store is California, which is states away. And most craft stores here don't know what washi paper is.

  • @FundedByNoOne

    Sorry unable to help :-(

  • Would you mind posting a link to where we can purchase washi paper? Google isn't being helpful :c

  • @FundedByNoOne

I brought most of my craft materials from our local shops here (Daiso, Arts & Crafts and stationery shops. I don't shop online so I can't post any reliable links for you. Sorry :-(

  • Thank you so much! :D

  • @TheNightsMoon

Thanks so much for watching :-)

  • What are the sizes of paper used please?

  • @2cume

Please refer to tutorial at 0:54. Thanks for watching :-)

  • @TheDeadpool05

I got mine from the Arts & Crafts shop. Thanks for watching :-)

  • No way! It looks so simple (yet I know it'll take me a long time to learn it).

I swear it took me almost two weeks to finally master the kawasaki rose.

Origami is the only thing (aside from liquor) to calm my stress.

I love the music. It reminds me of old silent films.

Thank you for teaching me something new.

  • @TheJokerzGirl

It takes a lot of patience to learn and to fold and it can be very addictive! lol. Thanks for your comment. Most appreciated :-)

  • Another question, why your flower stays ? lol

  • @Chan20110402

The washi paper I used is thick and rough and that's the reason the flower stays. Hope this explains :-)

  • @ireneblchua

Hi Irene, where did you get the washi paper from? I'm also fr SG. Thanks.

P.S. You're my inspiration! Going to make your Chinese dragon soon for 2012. Thanks for the detailed tutorial.

  • @kokwaifun

I got the washi paper from Daiso. Thanks for watching my tutorials. Apreciate your support :-)

  • Hmmm.. ok , i'll try, thanks (:

  • Using crepe paper to make this is ok too.. But when I put the rose to the stick, the hole become too big and does not stay, please help.

  • @Chan20110402

Try using a small piece of magic/transparent tape to stick on the crepe paper where you insert the stick. This should help :-)

  • 这玫瑰很漂亮很华丽但是又不难,超赞,不过材料准备挺麻烦的.....

  • @TheCokeberry

    我同意材料准备挺麻烦的。你需要耐心做所有這些。感謝收看 :-)

  • when i fold the petals back over, the sides keep on ripping. i'm using just regular paper, so are there any easily accessible material that i can use that wont rip as easy?

  • @ThyFaceIsAFail

Because of the nature of folding the petals back over, you will need to use the type of paper that does not tear easily. Washi paper is recommended for this model. Thank you for watching :-)

  • Can I use crepe paper ?

  • @Chan20110402

I have not used crepe paper for making this model so I cannot give you advice. You may wish to try and post me the result. Thanks for watching :-)

  • where did you buy the floral wire and tape?

  • @SuperCrystalicious

I brought it from the Crafts Shop. Thanks for watching :-)

  • CAN I USE TOILET PAPER COLORED RED WITH SHARPIE MARKER?

  • @lionsblood321

I do not know the result of using toilet paper but you may wish to give it a try. Thanks for watching :-)

  • If the paper is one sided can you still use it? I know someone else already asked this question, but I'm confused when you said No, it will not look nice with. :-) Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

  • @nikemagia123

I suppose you can try using it. It's not a bad thing. Thanks for watching :-)

  • This is so Great. Thanks >>>

  • @MrLauralau85

    Thanks for your comment :-)

  • this might seem like a dumb question, but you make the pieces fit into eachother by using smaller squares every time, right? >.<

  • @nnnicoleann

Yes. You can see in the video at 0:55 the sizes of paper used to make the rose. Hope you enjoy folding :-)

  • @ireneblchua oh, okay. i didn't pay attention to that part. >.< lol, thank you. :]

  • @nnnicoleann

    No worries. Happy folding :-)

  • can you use this this with one sided paper?

  • @b00ya911

No, it will not look nice :-)

  • It is incredible this work and what a spectacular result! and your pink appears real !! really splendid and succeeded! BRAVO my dear friend for your great talent and very beautiful music moreover !! completely perfect and Awesomeღ♥¸¸.• °ღ♥¸¸.• ♥

  • WOW .... beautiful!!!

  • @MsSchnauzer123

    Thank you :-)

  • Hi Irene, i have a question where can i find those type of origami papers n i can you an ordinary white paper right to make it?

  • @b00ya911

You can try the Arts & Crafts shops. Ordinary paper will not make the flower natural. You may wish to try using crepe paper. Thanks for watching :-)

  • These look SO REAL! Beautiful! It's astonishing to watch you transform paper into so many cool things! You exude talent! :)

  • @510robyn

    Hi Robyn

I have to thank the creators and authors of the many craft books for the step-by-step directions given for making all kinds of cool origami & stuff. I like this one too! The washi paper is particularly natural for making the rose. Grateful for your lovely comment and kind support :-)

  • Beautiful!! Can I ask where you got your washi paper??? :)

  • @bubblesinvegas1

I got my washi paper from the Daiso $2 shop. Thanks for watching :-)

  • @ireneblchua Thank you!! Is there an equivalent to washi paper? I really want to make these this weekend but I don't think I can find the paper that quickly where I am....

  • @bubblesinvegas1

You can try using crepe paper :-)

  • It is so pretty and simple to make! Thank you so much for sharing! =]
