Actually, I thought it was put together very well! I am typically not into rap and hip-hop either. Look at from this perspective though.

The record crackling per say, was making it reminiscent of the term peace, which has been kind of abandoned since the late 60's- a nostolgic effect. Once again, the piano was an admired instrument of the 1930s and 40's.
