How could someone open the quran, read it and be happy? I got a copy here, it's sites full of "but the unbelievers don't know" "but they will go to hell" and direct commands to do stuff. You have to read the Koran and Hadith with a very thick filter to get anything that could be plausibly considered spiritual. Even then, it won't be real understanding. It'll just be a vague sense. It will be like a scratch you can't itch, but finally give up.
The only thing tangible in Islam is the repetition of the ritual. People may find solace in that structure alone as did pagans throughout history. If you are a good moral person, it won't be because of the Koran, it will be in spite of it.

ISLAM is the only religion that makes a clear differentiation between the Creator and the creation. We dont make pictures, idols or anything of God. Such things are forbidden in Islam. We worship the Creator in the way in which He wants, and we don't associate the Creator to His creation. That would be an insult. How dare some people compare Almighty God to something which is a measly and insignificant as His creation? You wouldn't do that the Queen, so why do that to the Lord of the Queen?

You have to read the Koran and Hadith with a very thick filter to get anything that could be plausibly considered spiritual. Even then, it won't be real understanding. It'll just be a vague sense. It will be like a scratch you can't itch, but finally give up.
The only thing tangible in Islam is the repetition of the ritual. People may find solace in that structure alone as did pagans throughout history. If you are a good moral person, it won't be because of the Koran, it will be in spite of it.
