  • THAT LITTLE GIRL YOUR WATCHING DIED THREE YEARS AGO AND SHE HAD A FULL LIFE, THATS HOW OLD THISS SHIT IS...OMFG, MIND EXPLOSION...WHY ARE THESE CARTOONS SO HILARIOUSLY RACIST ?

  • Klix Klax Klub!

  • lOS NIÑOS Y LOS ANIMALES YA ACTUABAN EN LAS PELICULAS MUDAS. que lindo ver esta joya de la cinematografia, epoca de nuestros bisabuelos.

  • I by no means want to start an issue, but I"m a little confused about the KKK thing. Were the children making fun of it or was it a reflection in our time period where the KKK was considered an acceptable group? The KKK was big in the 1920s so I'm just to figure this out. I'm not trying to start trouble at all, or cause an issue. I don't be in censoring the mistake of the past nor do I agree with racism. I hate having to explain myself but I don't want to be taken out of context!

  • Does anybody know what language this is in?

  • Alice(or virginia) was such a beautiful girl.

  • @Lulurosyposy I was just gonna say that, until I saw your post. She was a very very pretty little girl! She died at the age of 90, so she had a good run.

  • @Boudiga Yes, I completely agree! So sad, Wayne Allwine (The voice of Mickey Mouse) and Virginia Davis died in the same year! These two wonderful Disney icons will be dearly missed.

I'm so glad you uploaded this, @Probradill! How did you ever find this? It's amazing ^^

  • @Lulurosyposy I'm not a big fan of disney so much as I'm a fan of silent films. There is such a forgotten art form in them and a beautiful mystery behind them. Here theses actors never say a word, yet their faces make you want to know who they are. I found a lovely silent film called the little match seller. Its very sad but lovely. Get this the movie is over a 100 yrs old. I'm not sure if its still around, but if it is, look it up on here. Its short but worth watching!

  • @Boudiga Wow, you have a wonderful way of saying things! I don't want to start an argument at all, so I'm sorry. But, I would have to say that I'm more with 1928's and up Mickey Mouse cartoons. I love the way they make the orchestra music go perfectly with what is happening in the cartoon. Both of these cartoons are a very big step in technology in their time period! I just happened to stumble upon this, but yes, there is a wonderful art in them.

  • @Lulurosyposy I didn't think you were seeking to start a fight. To each their own. Just because I"m not too fond of disney doesn't mean you shouldn't. :) I agree yes theses two movies were mile stones for film. When I saw Virginas face I had to know who she was. So was just a stunning child. Its hard to believe that this is as old as it is. What a wonderful short!

  • @Boudiga Well I'm glad you are so understanding. :) Yes, It is hard to believe that it is so old! It helps me remember that if it weren't for these amazing and talented people, the world we have to day would be so different. So, yes, a wonderful short!

  • @Boudiga I adore Silent film as well! Pantomime is a bygone art form; Mark me!---I hope it returns :) I'm a huge fan of Charlie Chaplin. He was an innovator in the sense that he introduced pathos to the silent screen. It's difficult to credit such a feat to one person, but he certainly made a contribution to the art form! One of my favourite silent films, however, is Fritz Lang's Metropolis. If you've yet to see it, I give my highest regards to do so :)

  • @Lulurosyposy Thank you for your kind words. Virginia Davis really was the start of everything Disney---she was the first actress to be under contract. That's a milestone to be proud of. She'll be dearly missed.

I came across several Alice cartoons quite by accident. I downloaded a Torrent marked plainly as 'Disney', and, to me surprise and delight, this is what it contained. From what I gather, these were recorded from television to VHS, then later digitized.

  • @ProbradIII Wow, that's very interesting! :) I am, like stated in the previous comment, amazed at how you can do all this. I'm terrible with computers and such.

    And, your very welcome!! :D

  • @ProbradIII Thank you so much for uploading this short! I thought you could only find these on the new Blu Ray discs of Disney Classics. I am currently doing a research paper on Walt Disney's impact on film. It's great to see them myself and reading all of your responses has really opened my eyes to how monumental his work was. So thank you again for posting!

  • @aecampion Your very welcome :)

  • @aecampion You're very welcome :)

  • huh omg in het Nederlands! :D dat had ik niet verwacht xD

  • rip virgina

  • RIP Virginia Davis, the original Alice. 1918-2009.
