  • This is our nation's attempt to control the population, plane and simple

  • HIDDEN CURE.Cancer is a deficiency disease caused by a lack of nitrilosides in the modern western diet just like scurvy is a deficiency of vitamin C. Big Pharma/FDA profiteers have covered up the cure and have declared it fraud and quackery for over 60 years.Watch WORLD WITHOUT CANCER YouTube documentary and investigate these facts.Thousands have been cured just by adding this essential compond to their diet without the self destructive and devastating drugs, chemo and radiation.Choose life.

  • thank you for your sub I am trying to protect my lovedones and others by telling them our story if you have some one that you want to protect then have them stop by my channel and sub then tell a friend

  • @buugiman78

"This has NOTHING to do with the government."

On the contrary, here's how I see it:

    1. Hospitals get to charge the government for drugs.

    2. Hospitals no longer care about cost cutting so they buy only the expensive drugs (not generic) to make money from the government.

    3. Pharmaceutical companies no longer make generics since no one buys them.

    4. Generic drugs are in short supply since no one makes them any more, which then of course leads to price gouging.

  • i bet politics is the only thing these people think about.,, must suck

  • Alan Grayson was right - don't get sick but if you do, then die quickly.

  • The whole story here is about fucking greed. Where is my socialized healthcare?

  • How much profit is too much profit? In capitalism there is no such amount, or limit. This is why healthcare does not belong in the private sector. Take the profit motive out of healthcare. You will still have plenty of caring professionals. You just won't have the profiteers. Of course, now we have the problem of wresting the system from the profiteers.

  • EVERYTHING is business people except it or do something about it but don't argue and complain on YouTube and go back to your life. If you aren't gonna do anything about it then stfu

  • Hey I can hear the background noise of whatever tv was on while you were filming. You looking for an intern sound engineer?

  • public safety, like police and fire protection, has been removed from private profiteers and for good reasons. the life and safety of individuals shouldn't be at the mercy of profits. Look up the history of fire depts

that's why we need national healthcare. it will screw pharmaceuticals and insurance company but who cares? they don't give a damn about anything but profits.

and prisoners, military ppl (at least for now) and the senate and congress get free healthcare for life! what the hell??

  • @TheBug1961 Let's socialize everything.

  • American politicians must be a bunch of sociopaths I swear... How could they possibly allow this to there own countrymen and women....

  • @funkyflights Greed!!! How many politicians own stock in Pharma??? If I was to take a guess, Id say at least 90%!

  • They REALLY butchered this story. First of all the drugs were stopped by FDA regulation for having minor defects, not for being unprofitable as you yourself admit they can be sold for 4000% profit. Pharmacies that still carry the drug and selling them to hospitals at marked up prices (kind of like a scalper). Hospitals are not selling it up at marked up prices, they are buying it at marked up prices.

its essentially ticket scalping but with medicine(tickets) and pharmacies(scalpers).

  • unregulation @ its best

  • @MrJeggus Those drugs DO cure the common cold. The only way to truly fight a virus is for your immune system to attack it. These drugs allow you to rest for that to happen.

  • Cures?? LOLOLOL, ya right!

  • What a bunch of scum, making profit of people's suffering.

  • I love capitalism but it just don't work when it comes to Medicine.

  • @OatSharpener Capitalism doesn't work at all, it relies on constant exponential growth... we exist on a planet with limited resources.

  • Well, this is just how capitalism works. The only thing that matters is maximizing the profits. Take a good look at this libertarians. This has NOTHING to do with the government. This is a prime example how the forces of corruption are at play in the private sector as well. Yeah, remove the government and you won't see the end of it. But, of course the stupid cock-sucking libertarians won't realize this since they have their heads too deep up their ugly asses.

  • @buugiman78

Hey genius, did you watch the video? The drugs are RARE because it's not profitable to make, they're not profitable because the hospitals PURPOSELY buy non generic versions so they get the maximum amount of money repaid from the government.

If the government didn't repay them money, this situation wouldn't exist, the generic brands would be still in business and there wouldn't be anyone marking up anything, because there would be no short of SUPPLY. DERP.

  • Your support for capitalism at work.

  • WALTON SIMONS

This plague -- the rioting is intensifying to the point where we may not be able

    to contain it.

    BOB PAGE

Why contain it? Let it spill over into the schools and churches, let the bodies

pile up in the streets. In the end, they'll beg us to save them.

  • LOL! Cancer is the biggest medical scam. I can't post direct links but you can type these keywords in google:

above top secret cancer is dead

type all six words into google.

    Here are other keywords:

    crowhouse cancer can be cured

  • @MrJeggus No. That is exactly the point I was making.

  • Cenk asked, "what happens to the idea that hospitals/doctors were supposed to look out for us?" Well, that's Capitalism baby, no such thing as "looking out for us" exist. I thought you love Capitalism?

  • This is unregulated capitalism.

  • enjoy your greedy jew companies amerifats

  • @Lemileant wow, the ethnocentrism, discrimination and anger, all in one sad, sad sentence.

  • americans should move to canada. canada is the shit

  • @bsrulez101 well im sitting here with undescended testicles and low testosterone, waiting for a endocrinologist for months now, any time now....so Canada is not the shit but it could be worse i guess.

  • Sorry Cenk, but the "profit motive" IS the problem... The people working for the drug companies are the ones making newer and better drugs. They aren't doing so for billions of dollars they are doing so to apply their skills and intellect.

The person who created the polio vaccine didn't do so for a big payoff...

This whole Idea that we need a "profit motive" to do anything in this country is the biggest lie of them all.

  • Oh look, a for profit health care system doesn't actually help, and makes even the doctors themselves greedy bastards. LIBERTAIRIANS ARE IDIOTS.

  • "these drugs were stopped because they are unprofitable ... they are being sold for 1000% profit"

ERROR - Does Not Compute - ERROR.

They were NOT stopped for being unprofitable. They were stopped by the FDA for having minor defects. The result was a shortage and scalpers are making off like bandits. Neither the hospitals nor "Big Pharma" is getting rich off this.

Besides there is no such thing as an unprofitable drug.

  • Here is the article:

"Hospital Drug Shortages Present Costly Crisis"

    by the Huffington Post.

  • bush probably did that with the knowledge that hospitals were gonna buy the most expensive drugs from his buddies on the pharmaceutical industry

  • Cue libertarians frothing at the mouth to defend the medical establishment.

  • @Magicwillnz Yes. "Best in the world" That is what you will hear parroted from the Paul bots, & other "WWJD? every man for himself freedom this freedom that" shitheads When actually, we are 37th in the world. Still Number ONE in spending. Top dog on the dollar baby! USA! USA! USA!

  • @Friedstuffsable "we are 37th in the world" With all the recent cuts this year for the poor, elderly and disabled, I would bet we have dropped even further.

  • @FruitTrees4Life Maybe. Have a look at the World Health Organization's website.

  • The only problem here is government intervention. Government should stay out of the medical sector completely, everything they touch, they poison.

  • Edward R. Murrow - "Who owns the patent on this vaccine?"

Jonas Salk - "Well, the people, I would say. There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?"

  • @jon85554es It won't be long before the sun has a patent on it.

  • NHS BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is what happens when hospitals are corporations and have share holders. Hospitals should be non-profit. That means staff and doctors paid well but not investors!

  • I dont think these guys know theres a difference in the composition of the generic medications vs the actual brand drugs. Its like saying people should buy no name brand cookies and they will be just as good as the brand cookies. Yah, sometimes there might be no noticable difference, but if you pay a little extra for the real thing its usually a better product. In the end... you get what you pay for.

  • Whenever I go to the hospital or the doctor, I refer to myself as a 'customer of' so-and-so, not 'a patient' of so-and-so. This confuses the front office staff, but when they question me, I simply ask them if this is a business. When they say 'yes', I say 'then, I'm a customer'

  • what ever happened to.

hey im ill could you give me some drugs.

    hey sure here you go..

hospitals profiting doesn't sound like a good idea in my mind to be honest.

i always thought the government bought them the drugs and stuff...

    i.e. funding

  • @bushyboi2k9 I was looking at your profile and noticed you're from the UK. The US health service is different from ours, mate.

  • @Solarfactor well this kind of shows then that clearly america is doing it all wrong right?

  • @bushyboi2k9 Yes, but you'll never get a Republican to agree with you on that point.

  • One would think doctors cared for people.. nah, money.

  • @QBisbest I think it's the hospital administrators - not the doctors themselves.

  • And socialism is the evil entity....Right.....

  • @nett103 The term "socialist" is bandied about by people who don't understand what it means.

  • The problem with using university-level research is that private industry has already hijacked those institutions to focus research on profitable treatments rather than cures.

  • holy shit, why would anyone opt to turn health care into a market that must make profit in order to be effective? That makes no sense. There are so many diseases and ailments in the world that real people suffer from, but that are so rare that no drug company will ever make a profit off of the medication.

That's terrible. The US is the richest country in the world, and the weaker people in your society can just go fuck themselves as if there were nothing you can do to help them?

    Jesus..

  • any DUMB FUCKS still think for profit healthcare is best?

  • Image that, Bush left them a loophole.....

  • My advise to these patients is, go score some weed

  • America : Prime example of why health services should not be created on a profit motive basis.

  • This video is very weird....its the FIRST time that Cenk has ever forgotten to say "Am I not merciful?" at some point. :)

  • Where are the Ron Paul Trolls now? the market will fix itself right?

  • @sushanalone, In a free market businesses compete for consumer dollars and that always drives prices down. In this case the government replaces the real consumer. If the choice is between a 10k drug and a 1k drug (same only generic) and the gov is willing to pay for the 10k drug then the hospitals will prescribe the 10k drug. No consumer though would do this.

  • they don't want healthy people living in this world; unhealthy people are so much more profitable.

  • @perplex001 "unhealthy people are so much more profitable ... they deny people with pre-existing conditions because it is unprofitable"

There is no end to liberal hypocracy.

  • @interstate317 which makes me weep for humanity

  • Fuck man... this is sooooo depressing... where is the fucken justice in this world!?! It seems that the only option there is, is to go out and get these people ourselves! What are we supposed to do? It just keeps happening, and no one is paying for their crimes! Wait.... the poor, the middle class, and the sick are apparently.

  • @dizzitoast

The problem is when you are at the top, most people look at others like crap even if they themselves were on welfare just a few days ago.

This is why I like this quote from Abe Lincoln, "If you want to test a man's character, give him power". We can say all the nice things right now, but god knows will we change when we got power.

  • @Balencian Well said...

  • The brand name drugs and 'generic' drugs are basically the same ingredients just manufactured in a different facility. Perhaps even owned by the same company.

Hospitals do buy bulk (eg pain killers) which they can simply scoop out and divide up to whats required for any given patient.

Much cheaper than buying hundreds of little boxes to break open. Imagine the waste.

  • you have a private health care system. nuff said. -A Canadian.

  • @conthemon Well said.

  • @conthemon

im so sick of pretentious canadians. canadian healthcare system is a joke! go to a hospital and you have to wait atleast 4 hours to see a doctor on a good day. almost third to a half of canadians dont have a family doc. waiting lists for surgery's are ridiculous. a fully public system simply will not be feasible moving into the future in canada.

  • @hash1212121212 my comment in no way suggests that the Canadian public HealthCare system is perfect. It does, however, suggest that your massively private American system is fucked.

  • @hash1212121212 I know parents with severy disabled sick kids that refused jobs in the USA, for one reason, HEALTH-CARE!!! When it comes to Health-care, Canada blows the USA out of the water. "Patients admitted to hospitals waited on average six hours in emergency rooms. Nearly 400,000 patients waited 24 hours or more." Thats the USA!

  • Yeah...no Cenk. I think the incentives get worse with research.

Treatment is best because it means any one patient can be milked for cash until they die or go broke, cures are worse because you likely have a MUCH smaller window to milk the patient, and preventative medicine is unthinkable because it merely requires that the patient live a certain lifestyle and most likely will never even need a cure or treatment.

Finding cures...not a huge priority for those motivated by profit, I think.

  • If Pfizer's chemists, Dr.s came up with a cure for a common disease, all the top dogs as the big Pharma corp. would shit can the project because they make more money treating diseases, than they do curing them.

  • @Friedstuffsable this violates nash equilibrium. Learn more about economics.

  • @interstate317 STFU Libertardian. U.S.A. Number #1 in healthcare spending by far. Number #37 in the world for quality of care. (World Health Organization) Reasonable people observe this & conclude something isn't working. Unreasonable people such as yourself have a hard on for absolute capitalism, a feel the need to impress strangers with their phony knowledge because they took a few credits in economics.

  • @Friedstuffsable so you didn't go look up Nash Equilibrium, figures.

I'll sum it up for you, you can make far more money being the only company with a cure than you can simply being another one with a treatment, hence they will always strive for a cure.

Our healthcare system was ranked #1 in responsiveness to patient care, that measures quality. Everything else just measured how healthy citizens are, not the hospitals. And it was 4% of GDP in the 60's when it was a free market.

  • @Friedstuffsable Cannabinoids (the active compounds in cannabis) have been shown in many animal studies to cure many different types of cancers with no negative side effects. I have heard high doses of vitamin C does the same, but I have yet to research that claim.

I am under the impression that Big Pharma knows this and in collusion with the FDA they have been keeping these safe and natural alternatives from wiping out their nearly 100 billion dollar annual cancer industry.

  • @IHighLikePlane Absolutely. Natural compounds can't as easily be patented, marketed as a formulated medication designed by a Pharmaceutical company. There is less money in it, therefor, it is not an accepted treatment.

  • @Friedstuffsable Cannabis WAS marketed by pharmaceutical companies, it was regulated as a narcotic under the law.

Besides, both patents and the illegality of marijuana are anti-free market so I don't know why you hate libertarians.

  • @IHighLikePlane There is absolutely no evidence that cannabis cures cancer, only gives some of the same treatments you people keep saying are deliberately done to avoid the cure. 'Big Pharma" used to sell Cannabis in medication before the government classified it as schedule I drug.

  • @interstate317 The only way you could say something like that is if you have literally spent no time researching it.

Do me a favor, go to google search "pub med" go to the .gov website then on that site search "cannabinoid cancer" and you can read the medical literature for yourself. Pay special attention to words like apoptosis (cancer cells committing suicide).

After reading several scientific studies search youtube for "Run From the Cure". Then get angry at the injustice.

  • Big pharma's gotta recuperate their research money somehow. Not saying it's fair or right, but that's reality.

  • not bragging....urgh canada :)

  • The "Free Market" strikes again!

  • Only one problem. Who gives a shit?! Cancer drugs are SHIT. If they at all worked, would cancer be the number three killer, after Medical Treatment, and Heart Disease?! Cenk, when it comes to Big Pharma, you are a total sell-out and corporatist.

  • what kind of fucked up country has hospitals making profits!?!??!?1 hospitals shouldn't make profits! they're there to save lives and help people, under circumstance! does not matter who pays and what the cost is! you don't put a price tag on someone's life/health! goodness gracious, this story actually made for a split wish communism had actually won, because they made hospital care free for everyone!

  • @bbphnix *made me

  • If the government and insurance companies would actually bother to look more carefully at what they are paying claims out for. Then the drug companies and hospitals wouldn't be charging such outragous prices.

  • Comment removed

  • drug prices are high because of insurance companies and the government paying for them so people don't worry about getting a lower price because someone else in many cases will pay for it

  • wtf? I can't even buy a pack of some medicines I want without a prescription, but companies are allowed free access?

  • Cenk, hospitals and doctors DO need to make a lot of money, Doctors go to school for 10+ years and end up with at least a quarter of a million in debt. Do you expect them to make as much as the druggy fuckup in high school who became a manager at McDonalds? That's your "middle class"

  • @efe122 It's not our job to pay for people's debt, they should've have known before hand the debt they're going to get when they go to med school.

  • @efe122 If the government paid them you could cut 'defence' spending by 3 per cent and give it all to the doctors and they'd be paid the same, yet the patients would be a lot better off.

  • @efe122 wait, how is it my fault someone took out a school loan? Why do I give a fuck when I'm on my death bed with cancer or something about how my illness is going to pay for someone else's debt ? Also, doctors make a TON of money, a TON. They pay off their loans very quickly so there's no need for the greed.

  • You guys really need to fix that room's reverb...

  • Sources?

  • Our version of capitalism makes socialism look like a fucking paradise.

We need to make health care, much like education, single-payer and government run. Simple, easy, productive and most of all CHEAP!

  • POST THE SOURCES

  • god bless america

  • Greed is never Good.

  • This is a great example of why crony capitalism does not work.

  • @TheOrdinaryEconomist Capitalism*

  • this may sound really stupid but how long hs cancer been around has been here for thousands of years or just a couple hundred or what

  • @buffaloface1 Cancer has been around for hundreds of millions of years longer than the human race. Its not a virus, infection, or disease---its a genetic mutation.

    .

Your DNA & genes dictate all cell functions, including reproduction. Now & then a cell mutates, and sometimes a mutated cell gets a gene stuck in active mode---when this happens on the reproduction gene, cells endlessly reproduce, starving the organism. Because they're your own cells your body doesn't attack them.

  • 3:33 Ana's comment about the health services wanting to help people when it comes to their lives and not make profit is true, just not in the US.

All health care professionals (from hostpital staff to the pharma companies) should be bound by a hippocratic oath which would make them legally bound not to put profit before patients.

US health care sucks, the free market (in the health care system) is costing lives.

  • George W. Bush is now the good guy. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • MEDICARE FOR ALL!!!

  • Yay for Canada.

  • Here's the other side of the story. Medicare reimbursements for medical services to cancer patients are very low, but generous drug reimbursements made it economically viable back in the 1980s and 1990s for hospitals and independent clinics to invest in the equipment, staffing and training necessary to provide high-quality cancer treatment, even in geographic areas with small patient populations. Bush's change to reimbursement policy left a lot of oncology practices hanging out to dry.

  • @rcreative1 How about we nationalize the whole damn industry because there are things that shouldn't be for profit, or at least not massive profits. Life essentials should fall into this category.

  • Get treatment abroad, is cheaper

  • Fuck. This. -_-

America is a dictatorship with hollow elections between "John Jackson" and "Jack Johnson" style candidates. It doesn't ultimately matter who you vote for; they're all carbon copy actors paid to do whatever their coporate "lobbyists" (the hands that feed them and jerk them off) tell them to. As chliché as it sounds, the fact is that their ultimately is no democracy in America, just the bare minimum the corporatocracy allows you to destract you from their dicks up your ass.

  • "Bush is the good guy".

  • @bobbytiger who would have thought that he would do more for americans then Obama has .

  • @bobbytiger It ups my respect for him

But in this particular case for example.

  • @bobbytiger Facts are Facts. Not good, not bad just facts.

  • Insurance companies. I used to work in patient collections for a large hospital. They make Christians look bad.

No research is conducted by a Phan. It's conducted almost 100% w tax $.

Another gov't subsidy program since they (Parm) get to own the patent. Paid for with tax $.

  • Scalpers

  • america... killing you softly. only half the time.

  • "hey doctor can you help me" "nope im here to profit on your pain" "oh ok"

  • The oh-so glorious 'financial incentive' that's so popular these days fits perfectly into the business / finance world that rules America- but people should realise it's a nearly disposable factor when it comes to a lot of scientists / teachers, etcetera- It's not a bad idea to go in and attack it.

(Take even the smallest step into the research world of HRM and this will be confirmed- it is not up for 'debate' and subject to opinion- the financial incentive in complicated matters is bullshit.)

  • in my country health is a right, not a product...

  • Help patients? lol, no. $__$

  • Fucking greedy fucks...

  • why the fuck is the government giving the hospitals money for medicine? i thought they didnt want government in there goddamn health care

  • your videos are darker than usual... any way you can up the brightness?

  • wtf man... so not looking forward to going back to our shitfest after 2 precious months in Tokyo *sigh* aaaaaand we still don't have any trains right? *double sigh*... well at least I can enjoy a few tokes.............:|

  • fucking americans......

  • Ana like many progressives are waaaaaay to naive. Come on guys catch up! The Koch brothers are CRIMINALS. The Bankers are CRIMINALS. The Fed is full of Financial TERRORISTS. If you haven't come to this conclusion than you are epically behind /:

  • i like the thing in annas hair. she looks like a little armenian ceasar

  • Suicide Is The Only Answer.

  • No. Get rid of the profit motive. Hell, nationalize it. Universal healthcare.

  • Medicine for profit is pure evil.

  • I disagree Cenk, get rid of the profit motive.

  • Ill call it hospital show business. They show you a hospital but its really just a business.

  • And justice for all who can afford it...

  • Cancer is used by big Pharma companies to make money. They are only using the most expensive procedures. Chemo only helps like 2 types of cancer, the rest it doesn't do anything which is why the death rates havent gone down since before chemo in most cancers

  • How the free market working out for you ???

  • Making such profits on people's sickness, disgusting...

  • Cenk keeping it real. The Bush administration, despite all it's evils, weren't always evil 100% of the time. And he says it, "in this case he was the good guy", it's not like he's afraid to admit it. We want good things for people.

  • Profit!

    OF COURSE! idiots

  • They should either nationalise or force these companies into cooperatives or non-profit entities. Or national governments puts up prize money of millions or billions dollars for discovering cures and vaccines, like they did in the 18th and 19th century - that's how chromometre for sea voyages (longitude), canned food...It'll motivate companies to think longterm and to focus on cures rather than much more profitable treatments.

  • Bush the good guy?....wow

  • Ron Paul would say get the government out of it and this would all fix itself through the free market... because you know, companies would turn good and pure the moment no one was watching them.

  • Aren't you so glad you don't have socialised healthcare and medicine like here in the UK and other places?

When you're living with cancer, nothing's as comforting as knowing you don't have that damn 'big government' helping you with the whole staying alive and alleviating pain lark. Don't get between me and my hospital bills! I'll be damned if one dollar of my taxes is gonna go to keeping me in health - there are Middle Eastern children to kill!

    # Oh say can you see.....? #

  • @ViolentRiC Look, dude, you don't have to rub it in. The majority of TYT viewers are progressives. Only a minority are Paultards.

  • @Ou8y2k2

I know most of you see sense, so sorry for being a dick about it. Don't think I don't remember the polls that showed that the majority of Americans supported a scheme wherein the government helped ensure more reasonable prices for medicine (to be against that would require a hell of a lot of political bullshit, which of course is not in shortage).

I was trying to mock those who were opposed, but the smug foreigner in me probably came through a bit too much.

  • @ViolentRiC I know, our Country fucking sucks... :(

  • This is what happens when you have for-profit healthcare and education systems. Afterall, looking after the welfare of your citizens obviously comes below launching wars in the Middle East (Iran's next... yay!) and funding the Israeli apartheid against the Palestinian people ($3bn a year). Capitalism FTW!

  • "Bush is the good guy"

    IMPOSSIBRUH

  • Hospital administrators make astronomical salaries! I worked in a hospital unit that they closed due to insufficient funds. One of the administrators' yearly salary was equal to the cost it took to run our unit for one year. I say let's get rid of the administrator so 15+ people didn't need to lose their jobs! Meanwhile they are building a brand new $290 million dollar building on campus. Makes no sense.

  • Why can't we have publicly owned/run hospitals that drive prices of healthcare down? It would basically force prices downward to make them way more affordable, then buying health insurance would be optional, not a necessity.
