I'm having issues with this movie on my PS3 slim. It gets to the disclaimer that says "this disc has been manufactured to the latest specifications..."And will not go past that menu. Ever since I tried playing the movie with my wifi turned on. It said if I wanted to allow the movie to use some online crap and I selected yes. Now it will NOT get past that damn disclaimer.
@DABS139 You probably need to turn off BD-Live, there should be a setting for it in the PS3's menus. If you can't find it, try temporarily turning wifi off altogether and see if it works.
@DussoJanladde I've tried playing the movie with wifi turned off on the PS3, yet still won't get past the warning disclaimer about the disc's latest specs. I know for sure it happened because of me trying to play it with online crap because it use to play normally before until I decided to turn on wifi and watch a movie.
@DABS139 Do you have the original Avatar Blu-ray (plastic case, comes with Avatar on DVD) or the special edition (cardboard case, 3 Blu-rays)? In my experience, the special edition has been much "better behaved" than the original in terms of loading, probably because Fox got a lot of complaints about the original.
I have A a playstation 3, now before I tryd it out on my PS3 The Avatar movie of course I tryd it on my Computer, Yes I have a BLU RAY Drive Its a HPE 180T Elite by HP and it didnt want to work then I found your Problem online and put it in my Ps3 now this is crazy the damn thing cut my TV off but when I cut it on it was running on the PS3 havent pushed play yet hold on LOL.KOOL it works on the Ps3 now I will find out about the computer now giveit some time to load huh.
@DeuceisLegit Excellent. Picture quality is the best I've seen on similar sets (CCFL-backlit LCD) and the price is right. The only annoyance is that the Game Mode toggle is buried deep in the menus, but that's only an issue if you use a receiver (which I strongly recommend, the TV's speakers are quite lackluster). All your settings are stored separately for each of the TV's inputs, but a receiver will only use one of them for everything.
@MTERM775 No idea. I don't even have a Blu-ray drive on my PC, and as you can see in my video response and the annotations, I have solved this problem as it stands.
@punkrocker27ka Figured it out today. My trick for loading the disc quickly (insert disc, press stop, press disc menu) was somehow causing the problem. Today I tried letting the disc load normally, which takes FOREVER, and playing the movie from there. No problems at all. I watched it up to my usual stopping place ("What the hell are you doing, Jake?") with absolutely no digital noise. This is the only Blu-ray (out of 3 so far) where my load trick causes a problem.
@punkrocker27ka I just bought the BD-C5500 this afternoon and avatar didn't work. I was connected and updated but still no go. Seemingly no download on their website either. Forums indicate a working patch/firmware has yet to be released. Then Planet Terror froze on me twice. I'm exchanging for a different brand tomorrow.
@maxpeck14 After updating your firmware, unplug the player for at least 10 seconds then plug it back in. On mine, Avatar would not play at all before I did this. Afterward, Avatar works fine if you don't "rush the loading" by pressing stop then disc menu. That's what was causing the problem in the video. Keep your player unless the unplugging trick doesn't work.
@zaperbaby Both my player and TV have the latest firmware upgrade. I'm hoping for another Blu-ray player firmware upgrade soon. I just got a couple other Blu-rays from Netflix, so I'll see if they work right.

Yeah usually blu-ray movies take a little while to load properly but just give it time to do what it needs to and it should play just fine.

I have this same problem with my LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray drive as well. Currently there are no firmware updates for my drive.
Comp specs of my PC:
GeForce 9600 GT
Intel core 2 duo E7500 2.93 GHz
PowerDVD7 Ultra.
LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray combo drive.
All my other blu-rays work fine.

I'm having this same problem with my LG Blu-ray drive. But the "Pixelated interference" on mine starts at the very beginning of playback.

Did you figure out if its the Disc or your blu-ray player?
I am interested in buying the Samsung BD-C5500 but if there is a bug then I might not.

This is because of New DRM Warner Brothers put on the disc stupid DRM
Its not your disc check for a firmware update for your player on samsungs web site
if you haven't already done so.
also you may have to wait till its fixed
DRM sucks Digital Rights Management F*** the consumers we want to make sure its harder to copy the movie
to bad if doesn't work right the consumers can afford a new blu-ray player
all consumers should show up at the store and demand refunds!! on Avatar if it doesn't work
