I agree the US skrud up more then any other contry in the world and have the dyrties politics too, yes even dyrtier then modern russians, so i hope the game will be so open that you can choose sides and not get a feeling that for example if you play for russians you feel like you are playing for evil faction and if you play for 'US you would get a feeling that you are on the HOLY side and fighting for the good and for freedom and the rest of the bullsheat!

Also that's what i dislike about OFP 2 - it has too much of that "Tom Clancy" feel to it - the free world against one big-ass evil enemy. If shit broke out between the US and China, I'm sure Russia will stick with China, or the Us wont get involved. BTW, why don't we ever get to play the people fighting the US - they aren't exactly all-good themselves tbh.

Yeah I'm sure a lot of people would like to play as the Soviets. As you say the US aren't necessarily the good guys in the real world. The first expansion for OFP -Red Hammer- let you play as a Spetznaz trooper but then they partially spoiled it by making out the Russian General was acting without orders and made of pure evil so your character defects! Actually now I can't remember if it was civilians or captured enemy soldiers who got murdered in Arma 1 but there was definitely a twist...

...and a blurring of the lines between who were actually the 'goodies' and 'baddies'! The only problem was the story was so poorly presented that you didn't really care! I'm hoping the sequel will have better dialogue and voice actors although this isn't as important to me as getting a good, realistic and unbroken game. Oh...just realised 'Soviets' is a bit out of date. Was true for OFP but I should have said Russians for Arma 2 :)

Lol can't agree with you any more on that bro. I am liking arma more and more now lol - as perhaps the most realistic realistic aspect of any war is there are no good-guys or bad-guys. Whoever wins makes it out that they were the brave ones fightingan all-evil force. Hell, if the Nazis win, everyone would be hating the allies for fighting for equal-rights for non-aryan people in Europe, or the tolerance of racial admixture.

btw, do you start fighting against South Sahrani in ArmA later on then?

You know what? I can't even remember! Basically the story continues in the Queen's Gambit expansion where you play as a squad of Mercenaries. I think in that one you are fighting the South but again there's a plot twist where the Queen has murdered the King only not really etc etc. It didn't take long for me to stop caring as the game itself was quite buggy, often the scripting didn't work and the Player's team is completely devoid of personality thanks to the script and acting work!

Very pretty , will make a nice RPG engine one day , you have no doubt conquered the niche market that this game is made for, but alas it is lacking in gameplay to attract the major numbers you need to sustain the interest that ofp did. BTW Ivan buchta has done a fantastic job marketing this game i wish you luck and succcess but it is not for me.
