Basia Trzetrzelewska-wspanialy talent "made in Poland"Od lat slucham jej muzyki i nigdy nie mam dosyc. Juz za czasow Alibabek widac bylo, ze ta kobieta ma szanse sie wybic na miedzynarodowym rynku muzycznym! Wielki uklon dla Basi!!!
Who said Polish don't know Basia?! Back in 80's, as I remember, Marek Niedzwiedzki was always digging her on the radio waves and played all the news from Basia. We know her from Alibabki, Perfect, Matt Bianco and solo. Look for Barbara Trzetrzelewska on wikipedia, lots of stuff about her. I don't live in old country anymore, so I can't promise what is going on on people's minds, but according to me, those who don't recognize Basia, they don't know music. I love her singing.
Thats true!I was little girl in 90's but I knew her from the beginning.I am very proud of her and her music. She's amazing and those who dont know here are absolutely dump ;)
@Awa68 songs in the Polish language adequately catch my attention, the lyrics are included on the cassette album that I have and I tried to read but it is very difficult because it consists of consonants (c, k, w, y, z, etc.)
Nieprawda, ze w Polsce nikt jej nie slucha. bo Basia byla bardzo popularna w latach 80tych i 90tych. Ja jestem przykladem zaczelam sluchac jako nastolatka i wciaz ja kocham ;)
I love Basia...I absolutely love her...I discovered her back in the 90's...and my Polish friends didn't know who she was until I introduced them to her.
Well, Basia is an emigrant singer, she left Poland in the early 1980's for UK, and she lived there since.
The new generation of people might listen to the comertial pop, hip-hop etc..... while Basia music is for more sophisticated, bit more mature and discriminative listeners :)
I don't understand why Poland do not recognize Basia. She's a fabulous singer. Because of her I am interested in Poland's history and it's people especailly the food.
I like that I live in a city that is full of friendly Polish people.
@JeffmChicago The only reason I can think of is because she sings almost entirely in English in non-traditional Polish (or even European) style - The same thing happened to Linda Ronstadt when she started singing Mexican and latin music - most Americans forgot about her.
@JeffmChicago Yes, it's true. Lots of people of Poland(I'm from Poland too) even don't know who is She and they are loughing when someone says he likes her songs
Not every Pole is going to like her music though... I'm a big fun but none of my Polish friends here in America are for instance. I do have bunch of American friends who... love her!!! It's just a personal taste I guess.
@SuperHugobox it is their loss not ours. Because of Basia I started listening to Brazilian music and make attempts at learning the Polish language. It's all good. Basia music is a part of my life and I'm a better person because of her.
@JeffmChicago I'm Polish. I know Basia's songs and I love them. About 10-15 years ago I bought "Clear Horizon - The Best of Basia". Now I am 30 and still love that voice and these songs...
But I think there's too many catchy songs on the radio with simple melody and trivial text. Teenagers prefer this kind of entertainment rather than real artists. No wonder a lot of - mostly young - people, also from Poland, have no idea people like Basia Trzetrzelewska exists.
@czajoma thanks for the reply. WE know Basia exist and her music is a joy to listen to. Pass it on Basia music that is As it never gets old. This song really gets my feet moving and fingers snapping. I love it!
It's just great! And I love this polish version of refrain at the end. And she is from Jaworzno, just nearby my city, although I never met her. Thanx for this song.
Basia is a lovely woman with an amazing vocal range, terrific lyricism and incomparable musical instincts. She can turn any song into a powerful performance.
Respect to Basia for her pround of her roots like in that song: full of innuendos like: esperanto created by polish Jew from my b-luved city Bialystok, Chopin- of polish/french mixed parentage famous composer or of polish oigin Curie-maden name Sklodowska-famous noble awarded scientist.
I remember this song...wow! I went through a nasty divorce back then, and this music really made a difference! It was just what I needed to get over the hurt. Basia! You're A breath of fresh air! God Bless Ya Sister!
it's awesome. Anyone has tabs for this, cause google can't find any?

teraz przypominam sobie tę piosenkę :)) w którym roku została wydana?? bo kojarzy mi się niesamowicie z dzieciństwem
Malagatikitaki23 2 years ago
I think a lot of that videogame sound can be attributed to an 80s fad where a lot of the percussion was computer originated.
It's like the liesure suits of the 70's. WHAT were they thinking?

Yes, my Polish friends didn't believe she was Polish until I played them Copernicus and she sang in Polish. They were floored
