nice truck, i see it was originally the 4.60 SE, i have the same truck but with an ofna force 32 and an hpi tuned pipe, i also upgraded the tranny to the 8.0 and put 23 mm hubs in it, titanium turnbuckles are a must for that truck as well if you bash like i do, keep it up man nice truck.
hello, when you eventualy take the shocks apart agian for a service, cut 8 equal length fuel line pieces, i did about 11 12 mm and it was perfect blance between rough and faster cornering. so that you can side one on each shock shaft before you but the shaft back in the resevoir . it will ower your truck slightly. dont too too long it doesnt need it. my truck can handle rough just as well now but corner a hundred percent better.
Thanks for the tip! I use 3Racing piggybacks now, and just recently took them apart, but I'll try that for sure next time I look over the shocks. Thanks,
looked like it was running a lil on the rich side ! love the Buku pipes !! I would lean it out a 1/4 and see what it might do !! That truck should be off the wall when you gag on it !
they are a bloody great truck, the thunder tiger engine is a real workhourse, very forgiving and reliable. if you can get it try sycle fuel, its available here in UK but im not sure if they export it. it makes it less of a science to tune. i found RB a pain to hold there tune but the OS engine are very good also.
my savage is that dam loud with a new axial 28 engine but it barrely stops idk why the breaks are missing up

why a roll cage bash that shit!!!
DeathDealr29 4 years ago
The rollcage is sold, rebuilt the truck to a OR racer.

Might add that this truck is a fatty, it weighs 14,8lbs with rollcage and empty tank.

Then maybe tighten up the BUKU a few turns and see if you get a better topend or not.

I've got a 17T clutch bell on the way, thinking of a 17/49 gearing...what do you think? BTW, that Buku pipe is awesome!
jawsofsteel75 4 years ago
I think the 49 spur gear would help! Or get a HPI Savage clutch bell 20T or 19t...that was what I always ran on my MGT
19t/54t was my gearing for races...with a LRP Spec 3 28.
rcmonstertruckforum 4 years ago
I've ordered a RRP slipper clutch w 54T spur, I'll run my 18T bell with it. It'll give me all the speed I can handle on a track and more lol
jawsofsteel75 4 years ago
where do you bye a rrp slipper clutch?
750nutcase 4 years ago
ebay
jawsofsteel75 4 years ago
Now you neeed a 17t clutch bell to get more on the topend!

Gearing is 18T/52T

what do you recon is the best all round gear mesh, for this engine?
750nutcase 4 years ago
On this truck, I know Steve succesfully used 19/54 (RRP slipper clutch), but not w this engine though.
jawsofsteel75 4 years ago
so wats the ideal mesh for this engine?
750nutcase 4 years ago
I havenät tried them all, and it depends on what car/truck you put it in.
