@TatianaZaza Well, he does sing it a half-step flat from the studio version.  But in his defense, U2 does most of their stuff tuned flat live, too.

@mikemassedotcom yes. true. Bono is doing a lot of songs a whole step or step and a half down lately. We actually only do a handful of live versions though. The rest are all studio versions...for a couple of them we had to make key compromises with our guitarist for changes and ease of tuning, etc.

I'm not sure why there's any confusion but let me clear it up again for anyone: this is "Hollywood U2" --as it says in the title, which is a U2 Tribute Show. Hollywood U2 does Red HIll Mining Town because they love the song and the crowds love it. And Hollywood Bono does it really well. My camera recording certainly doesn't do it justice,...but you get the idea anyway.

@TatianaZaza Hollywood U2 does do this song VERY well, as they do most of them. First time I heard this great tribute band playing Red Hill, I was walking on the street in Santa Barbara and I could hear it coming from a club nearby. I was very impressed and have had the opportunity to see the guys play on several occasions including a private party. They are definitely worth checking out.

they've soundchecked it during the end of the joshua tree tour. but never as it been performed to a live audience. only soundcheck.

My favorite U2 song, I wish U2 would perform it live just once on like a new dvd or something, but those are some tough notes to hit

this song was supposed to be a single from the joshua tree but bono soon realised it was just too high a note to reach every night while touring.
