Actually, it is good defending. Great defending actually. He doesn't give Ibrahimovic the space to attack the goal, or to give an assist to one of his teammates. Then, when Ibra moves out of his area to defend, Chielini holds back, holding his position while making sure nobody charges off the flanks.

Chiellini might have done a good job at making sure Zlatan didn't pass him, but look at all tricks Zlatan is pulling off and denying Chiellini the ball when he obviously goes for it. And in the end, Zlatan still gets to cross the ball in. You don't always have to pass the defender you're humiliating and score, this was more than enough already.
