  • I miss the days of college where I'd stay up all night watching this series. Good times.

  • Brilliant! Thanks.

This video sent me back 15 years, when I watched this amazing anime. Reminds me of when anime was generally watchable unlike these days.

  • Love it :-) thank you

  • Muchísimas gracias...

  • Reminds me of lonely and sad evenings

  • he... molto bella questa canzone

  • I could tell by the feeling of the song that it was sad, but DAYUM the lyrics didn't make it any better. I loved Maison Ikkoku (my favorite manga of all time). The anime was "ok"---the we all know, right? I love this song though, it's pretty much my favorite ending XD

  • and well.. i saw the entire anime too like two years ago... is great... very melancholic, but at the same time, gives you hope... and i'm not a soap opera person.. because many people will thnk of it like that... is just more deep

  • i love this song... great song

  • Amazing!!!!.. this song is perfect!

  • this song simply gives me goosebumps... it is beautiful.

  • this is my favorite work. this song matches this video. thank you.

  • is there an anime if so what is it called?

  • Maison Ikkoku is the name of the anime.

This is the first closing song. A great anime. Probably my favorite.

  • yes, I highly recommend it also!

  • my favorite anime ^_^

  • i love the music to this! its pretty! thnx so muxh for posting this video!

  • i really have a feeling that once i complete this show it may eclipse cowboy bebop as my favorite anime series of all time... i've only watched a quarter of it so far but it is absolutely wonderful.

  • you really did a good job, and you're right. This is better in HQ. What a wonderful song for a beautiful anime

  • This Song is Composed & Sung by Takao Kisugi(来生たかお).

He is Japanese Famous Singer Song Writer.

    Gilbert O'sullovan's Friends.

  • Excellent! Thank you!!

  • You absolutely rock for not only posting this song in full, but also translating it. Much like your previous subbed video for Maison Ikkoku, this one is favorited as well. Thanks for your work, I love the songs for Maison Ikkoku.

  • I'm glad you like it. Maison Ikkoku has some great music and songs in it. I just wish I could get more of my friends to take a chance on it.

  • Oh yeah. People won't get it, unless they watch it extensively. I saw it from the first episode to the last, and well, it beats most modern anime, in my opinion. It has such a compelling mixture of drama, and humor all in one. Shamefully enough, people don't look at this part of Rumiko's works, like they do the others, (I.e; Inuyasha, etc.) and leave Maison Ikkoku in the shadows.

  • I think it would appeal to modern audiences more if they made a few changes. Make Kyoko stupid, childish and incompetent and add about five more girls who love Yuhsaku. Have them make constantly make banal statements and randomly yell "SUGOI" and "DESU" because it's "cute". Take out all of Yuhsaku's character development. Include fanservice in every episode. If the plot accidentally starts to get interesting, spoil it by introducing more moe female characters.

  • I take it you don't care for the current "moe" crazy that dominates too much anime.

Have you tried the currently airing "Cross Game" I like it. It harkens back to an older style- both in art but also in character development.

  • I hear you :P

  • you mean like they did with ranma?

  • well said, perfect analogy.

  • @n14e5o15

There are random bits of fanservice already in Maison Ikkoku, but it is not the focus. Moe has ruined anime these days. So many people forget that Maison Ikkoku is one of the very best romance manga/anime. Simple love stories with minimal background music great opening and endings, are few to find these days.

  • @1madmartagan1 I agree that this Anime isn't known well enough in the west

(People just don't know what their missing out on).

My own thanks for this, as far as i'm aware this is the only Example of a Full & Translated Example of this song.

  • @1madmartagan1

I remember my cousin practically forcing me to the MK with extended family members one Christmas holiday...it was a disaster, my other cousins complained that it was boring and slow and everybody else said nothing. Awkward....I wish they could've spent the time to appreciate it as well.

  • Judging from the description, that's been a lot of work, but the result is worthy of the effort!

This is just a classic, a song that still touches my heart, even after 1000 times I've listened to it.

5* and adding it to my favourites!

    Thank you for sharing!

  • I'm glad you liked it so much... yeah, I started working on it in October of last year. Of course, December I was too busy, and I didn't get back to finish it until February.

Not like I worked on it every day, I have work and other things that take up my time. But I think this the most work I've put into any of my videos so.

I'm just glad people are already enjoying it! Makes it all worth while.

  • It definitely goes like this: one has an artistic project in mind... but real-life scheduling has a higher priority and that artistic project has to wait for some free time, whenever it is...

Isn't it great, anyway, how we may share our artistic views and efforts with other people around the world?! I think it is!

    ^_^

    Have a great everything!

  • Please... Please...

    Watch this in HIGH QUALITY

    It is so much better...
