You have to buy a book from malcom(there is probably other NPCs in elf and giant cities) in his general shop in tir chonaill, read it "in detail", and keep doing it 'til you have a succes. You'll have to read more books in order to increase your composing skill, and I would recommend downloading an offline mabinogi mml composer, such as Maki-Mabi or 3mle.
