Next was the iPhone 4 which is entirely fitting because it is the 4th gen. The iPhone 4S was next as we all know and is the 5th generation. So why would we call the iPhone 6th generation the iPhone 5? nonsense that is.

phuck at&t's stupid minutes plans I never use. I'd rather not have 3G and just use my iphone with puretalk ($10/month) and wifi and McD's when I need the data. No way will I be paying $40 just for the privilege of buying data which costs more and gives me less.

Jaime needs to learn up on resolutions and perfect scaling up. At double the resolution, the resolution would be 2048 x 1536. not 1280x720.

This way, current apps would stay as they are(just like the 3GS to iPhone 4).

@metalmaster76 The ipad screen is already around 720p but its just double the size of the rezound so if you took the same 1cm box area from both there would be less pixels in the ipads box. Also 1080p is the standard definition and many things aren't designed for more pixels (movies aren't normally shown with a resolution higher than 1080p, as 1080p is the standard)

If the software has good upscaling for DPI matching there should be no problems when viewing 720p videos on a retina display iPad3.

The next iPhone could end up being slightly better or even sub-par with the current model and the mainstream will still want it. The only people it negatively effects would be the mobile tech enthusiasts, and even then the ecosystem is still strong enough to keep some of them.

@galacticaphantome Look at the 4s, even though it sold more it was sold on much more carriers in the U.S. from the start and many more countries. Even so the 4s sold about 1 million on the first and the iphone 4, 500 thousand. There wasn't much increase (if any) between releases. The jumps from 3g-3gs-4 were increasing many times over and the 4s barely improved on the 4...

@gtawesom3 The 4s sold 4 million iPhones in 3 days which is a sales record. Yes they sold it on more carriers, but lets not pretend that the 4s didn't do well and won't continue doing well. If anything, it proved exactly how desirable an iPhone is for the general public.

The only way for iPhone to lose serious momentum is that the next version would have to be significantly worst by having a crap product or no redesign.
