Just watched a few episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh GX.. Haven't seen Yu-Gi-Oh in the longest time. But, wtf? Where is Yugi? Joey? All those guys? Why's this called Yu-Gi-Oh if Yugi isn't even in the episodes?

i have a big question that id like to have an answer to, why did yugioh 5D's end after the duel with Aporia it still went on for another season care to shed some light on the subject almost evey one i ask about the last season wants to see it dubbed to, i personally want to see shooting star Vs Halberd Cannon and see shooting quasar dragon in english
This new Yu-Gi-Oh! looks totally cool! I loved Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds! It was so cool! I wish I could've seen the last couple episodes before they took it off the air. =) Thanks for sharing this with us because I like 4Kids dubs.

As much as I agree that this may be a disaster like GX and 5D's, ZeXal here actually has something that may make this a little better than the other dubs and it is that the original Japanese version is ALREADY made for a younger audience. I have watched every episode since it started airing in japan and I don't see a single thing that should be omitted/edited severely for 4Kids' standards. I will watch for a while and see how this goes, if it is not good, then I will just go back to the japanese

I thought 5Ds was going to be horrible and synchros were a stupid idea, but I was completely wrong (thankfully) and they were cool additions to the yu-gi-oh mythos. HOWEVER, going into ZeXal with an open mind I found that the anime is horribe (i've watched the 20+ subbed episodes online) and xyz summoning is just a cheap concept that they turned out because they couldn't think of something more original. I can only hope 4Kids make the anime better. (You read that correctly)

I heard its bad, but I'll watch the first episode to decide for myself. The hair makes me laugh for this one. In my opinion the ppl in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's have the best hair design. L♥VE Yusei and Jack lol :-):-):-)
@NekroLuv Whomever told you it was "bad" was sorely mistaken. While its main character is hardly as serious as Yusei, the plot carries as much seriousness as 5D's. Admittedly, there are some elements borrowed from other series, but Zexal does have enough weight to stand on its own, and produces some really cool monsters too.
I'll like anyways since i'm not like the full hatters...I just feel you can do a better job with Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. You have a great cast of voice actors under your belt and all the need is a good script and it would be nice. Kids arn't as dumb as you think and can handle serious issues better than adults can. So no need to kiddify the franchise until it's a shell of it's former self just make it as close to the orginal as you can. This is just constructive critisim from someone who has watched
@endofline2343 I enjoyed their one piece dub as well, it was the only show they made that I could enjoy as much as the original japanese version... Then partway through the show they changed all of the voice actors for more than half of the main cast, and the new actors sounded like crap. I couldn't watch past that point anymore and now I only watch those original episodes and the japanese version.
@4kidsTV So you guys get to dub Zexal. I hope it goes well, i just have two questions. One, Will you finish GX eventually. Two, Will you finish 5 d's? the final season is my favorite Arc
@PokemonMasterGrant93 Do you know how many years it's been? It's quite clear 4Kids isn't dubbing the 4th season of GX as they ended it early(and other things) to do 5D's. It's clear that they ended 5D's, otherwise they wouldn't have promoted Zexal while 5D's is on. Just saying.
@PokemonMasterGrant93 No. They sort of already finished them. That duel between Jaden and Yubel is the GX finale and the one between Yusei and Aporia is the 5D's finale. They ended GX because they wanted to start 5D's sooner and they ended 5D's because of low ratings.
They didn't finish GX, left Jaden a mystery until the 3d movie was released and mysteriously brought him back without explanation. They didn't finish 5ds, and ruined the ending. I wonder what will happen when they get halfway through zeXal, enjoy it while it lasts

Does the pronunciation really matter? It's one letter and you go all rage. Does it really make a difference? At least now when people talk about it, it will sound cooler. Besides, it's obvious from your anger you won't even watch it, so it shouldn't matter to you.
...whatever. Plot point or not, the name sounds better now in my opinion, just like the other name changes/word changes that 4kids has done with the Yugioh series.
Same thing happend to GX when 5D's was dubbed. I was angry at first, but I got over it. To be honest, I'm actually happy with 5D's getting GX'd so Zexal can take the stage with the XYZ monsters. And as usual, I'm looking forward to the 4kids dubbing cast because I actually enjoy the english dub of all Yugioh series. I like subs too, but since I speak english and since 4kids cracks some good jokes from time to time, it just fits better.
@endofline2343 I gave up on the english dub years ago. Once you watch the originals of Duel Monsters, GX and 5D's, the 4kids versions become nearly unwatchable. I still enjoy 4kid's GX from time to time, but the terrible voice acting and ludicrous edits to both the story and the episodes themselves alienate most of the yugioh fanbase. But despite our complaints and suggestions to 4kids, they just keep doing the exact same hack job on every show they gain rights to...
I don't understand why 4kids took Yugioh! 5ds off the air. It was getting good so far. Can they atleast finish that show while the new series is on the air? They just started a new season on 5ds already.
@MegamanNG Maybe dubbing the show, but with Funimation there's no guarantee they'll get the thing on TV or get it any toys or video games. Funimation failed Dragon Ball Kai, and Fullmetal Alhemist Brotherhood in that regard.

Zexal is just like the original with a boy getting possessed by some ancient spirit. Since you enjoy the original, this one may become your top second. Though my favorite remains GX.
@Onyxsbayne It is Zeal in the original, however it was decided that the X needs to be pronounced, probably because of confusion with the logo. This was not done by us.

I'll like anyways since i'm not like the full hatters...I just feel you can do a better job with Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. You have a great cast of voice actors under your belt and all the need is a good script and it would be nice. Kids arn't as dumb as you think and can handle serious issues better than adults can. So no need to kiddify the franchise until it's a shell of it's former self just make it as close to the orginal as you can. This is just constructive critisim from someone who has watched

@endofline2343 I enjoyed their one piece dub as well, it was the only show they made that I could enjoy as much as the original japanese version... Then partway through the show they changed all of the voice actors for more than half of the main cast, and the new actors sounded like crap. I couldn't watch past that point anymore and now I only watch those original episodes and the japanese version.

@PokemonMasterGrant93 Do you know how many years it's been? It's quite clear 4Kids isn't dubbing the 4th season of GX as they ended it early(and other things) to do 5D's. It's clear that they ended 5D's, otherwise they wouldn't have promoted Zexal while 5D's is on. Just saying.

@PokemonMasterGrant93 No. They sort of already finished them. That duel between Jaden and Yubel is the GX finale and the one between Yusei and Aporia is the 5D's finale. They ended GX because they wanted to start 5D's sooner and they ended 5D's because of low ratings.

They didn't finish GX, left Jaden a mystery until the 3d movie was released and mysteriously brought him back without explanation. They didn't finish 5ds, and ruined the ending. I wonder what will happen when they get halfway through zeXal, enjoy it while it lasts

Same thing happend to GX when 5D's was dubbed. I was angry at first, but I got over it. To be honest, I'm actually happy with 5D's getting GX'd so Zexal can take the stage with the XYZ monsters. And as usual, I'm looking forward to the 4kids dubbing cast because I actually enjoy the english dub of all Yugioh series. I like subs too, but since I speak english and since 4kids cracks some good jokes from time to time, it just fits better.

@endofline2343 I gave up on the english dub years ago. Once you watch the originals of Duel Monsters, GX and 5D's, the 4kids versions become nearly unwatchable. I still enjoy 4kid's GX from time to time, but the terrible voice acting and ludicrous edits to both the story and the episodes themselves alienate most of the yugioh fanbase. But despite our complaints and suggestions to 4kids, they just keep doing the exact same hack job on every show they gain rights to...

@MegamanNG Maybe dubbing the show, but with Funimation there's no guarantee they'll get the thing on TV or get it any toys or video games. Funimation failed Dragon Ball Kai, and Fullmetal Alhemist Brotherhood in that regard.

@Onyxsbayne They have had a Japanese source that says the proper English pronunciation is in fact "Zexal" with the X sound included.
It is true that it is pronounced "Ze-yal" in Japanese, but when directly translated, it turns into "Zexal"

@Onyxsbayne It is Zeal in the original, however it was decided that the X needs to be pronounced, probably because of confusion with the logo. This was not done by us.
