You can also just use a plane, delete one point and press Ctrl to make new points around the outline of the car. Select last vertices and press F to join. then Alt + F to fill. Just a tip so you don't have to worry about thin overlapping faces as much. I guess you've already learnt that by now though, since you're starting young :-)

or like me i just downloads a indy 500 car for free from 3dvia.com but make sure its .obj. then in blender go to file, import, wavefront(.obj) and then find your 3d file then import it and you have nice detailed car for free and dosent use up your time.

That's a cool tutorial, but I found an actual easier, faster, and cleaner way of doing that. Just add a flat Plane Mesh. Don't Subdivide at all and drag the plane to the very front or back of the car and just keep extruding the lines and scaling them, down the entire car, keeping the lines perfectly vertical or horizontal, that way when you extrude the entire side, subdivisions will be straight with the lines. And you can go to wire frame mode to see the car through it, makes it faster (for me)

The best reason for avoiding triangles is that triangles fuck up subsurf, and a fucked up subsurf makes the normal map fucked up. How many times can I say fucked up in one sentence? :P

to the ob box, make sure the car is still selected as you do this, then go to modifiers panel, add a boolean, select difference. then take the cylinder off the car and you got a hole made out of a car for a wheel to fit in. do the same for the other wheel arches and you wont have to worry about getting the vertices around the arches so carefully as al you will be doing is cutting a hole off of you car model. i hope this will be handy for ya. :)

heya yomaz i just had to see that tutorial again, you know i was thinking that another way you could make the wheel arches out but putting a cylinder into where your wheels will be -big tip; when you add objects to your model you do so while youre in object mode cos otherwise all your objects will get stuck together if you move them around. so in object mode add a cylinder, put it where your wheels will be, then go to the edit buttons, then go to modifiers panel, add the name of cylinder to the
