I have seen Randy three times in concert, soon to be four in April...There isn't any way to express the thrill of seeing him coming out on stage and start to sing, no matter the song, or the venue...I was lucky enough to meet him..He is a classic, no one will ever replace him...
I have been lucky enough to see Randy in concert twice. And given the chance, anywhere near Arkansas I will go again. Always wanted to hear him sing "Oscar" live, Very touching song. Thanks Randy for all the great music and memories that come with it.
I have and always will be a Randy Travis fan. He has that unique voice that no one can ever copy mixed with great songs that literally will carry on long after he is gone through people like me and most of yall on here. He truly is a legend and a blessing to listen to every time whether its studio recorded or live. I hate the new "Country" genre but real country music like this will always be playing on my radio
Just saw Mr. Travis at Merlefest here in NC...and let me just say...WOW. I don't think anyone can put on a show like he does. He tells stories, jokes, and makes you feel like you're part of the show. Incredible man, incredible voice, and incredible performance. This was the first song in his set...and I am now a lifelong fan...SO grateful that I got to see him!
... at first all the record companies said the boy couldn't sing, man are they full of it are what? now look at his work and be the judge. they told alan jackson the same thing, it's a shame the same would of stopped the invasion of the bubble gum pop so/called country singers, shame. i don't even listen to country music on the radio any more, it gags a maggot.
while i don't go for "soft" modern country, gospel, or new country music that sounds like pop with banjos, i grew up on randy travis. it's sad to say, but i'm only 23 years old and i remember having a walkman with all kinds of cassettes to listen to, but i loved randy travis more than anything.
People love this song when I introduce it to audiences I sing to. A nice lady came and said said "That's the most beautiful song I've ever heard." In Russia we have
a phrase: "Is so sad it makes the stones cry". This song has same idea.
so many of his songs, like this one, is amazing country music.. he has 20+ songs that most people havent heard whether theyre too young or just missed out on hearing them, but Randy is a legend for sure
Great song! The original video is good, as far as quality, but I 'm not real crazy about the story line there...prefer live. I guess the original video is what the song is supposed to be about, but..
