Lets be honest, you could put James on a student trumpet and he'd still sound awesome. Some people used the fact the "need" an expensive instrument as an excuse to their playing. A trumpet is only part of playing, your face is the main thing. Armstrong played on a battered trumpet and still became a legend in trumpet.
I too want a Monnett, however if a musician like James Morrison picks up one of these and says it's nice ...h..m...m m. Dead curious . I'm serioulsly going to sus this out no matter what the cost. Glad I stumbled onto this clip.
Anyone like James Morrison could have any instrument he wants, the fact he's promoting this brand and this trumpet seems to me more because he likes it. If there is any payment involved so what, first you have to be good enough to get a company like that to completely redesign a trumpet and together shouldn't both James Morrison and the manufacturer both benefit from their mutual development of what is clearly a very impressive instrument?
Wow! THANKS SO MUCH for posting this. Morrison is an incredible musician and trumpet player. The prototype rotary looks and sounds great. I wonder if configuring the movable parts of the rotors onto the right side (into the player's right hand) and having the bottom caps on the left side, facing the player's left palm, would make it easier to hold- essentially reversing the valve/slide cluster to "left hand" configuration.

@NDguy191 Schagerl is europes Kanstul. There are much more exclusive trumpet makers than them. Have a look at Inderbinen or eclipse or possegger.
