I have actually checked with a an encyclopedia, a musician, and various string instrument shops and they all said the same thing, that is a cello not a bass. An easy way to tell the difference between them is the two notches at the head of the instrument. The Bass has harder to see notches that are closer to head, while the cello's are easier to see, and they are more straight like in this video. But everyone has their opinion. If people don't like this fact they can just ignore it.
