Im scared to death of roller coasters. I got tricked into getting on Space Mountain at Disney World when I was 8 years old back in 1986......that was also the last time I got on a roller coaster.

@Zeichcsj Yeah, I think I will stick with the Walt Disney World version because it is the classic and it has the true "space" feeling because you hear starfalls and everything. In space, you wouldn't hear music which ruins the Space Mountain experience. Plus, the WDW version technically goes faster (38mph[after major refurb] vs. 32mph) Oh yeah, the biggest drop on the WDW version is 39 feet, the DL version is only 13 feet.

this is after the refurb,, u can also tell by the tub lighting,, the old one use to have that spinning light turning in front of you, blinking real bright,, this one dont have it,, it has the blinking ont he walls, this is the way it is now,, the only people that will know and remember the old space mountian,, are the kids of the 90's,, that were old enough and remember the 90's good,, the 80's baby's will all kno,, it use to be better the way it was in the 90's

Disney World has 2 sides and Disneyland has 1

They have different re-entry tunnels

Space Mountain (Disney World's) has a different Strobe tunnel since the 2009 refurb

and Disney World's has single file seating vs. 2x2 seating at Disneyland

Like the disneyland one took out the observation window were you can view the ride the disney world one put a roof over so you can't see the ride and to make it darker like disneylands space mountain is darker because the window is gone

the ride was better befor they changed it,, u dont see the stars as much, or the lit up planets, u also dont see those bars.. the shadow of the bars that would look like they were gonna hit your head and knock your head off anymore, like u use to be able to see,, it was better befor they redid it

They did the refurbishment so the passengers could expirience a darker ride with more stars, galaxies, and asteroids.... This is a video of the ride before the refurb and you can't see any stars

no its not,, i live down the street from disneyland, and i been on the ride like a million times befor the refurb and also after,,, and you were able to see the stars more befor, and plantes. galaxy ect. alot more, and they would play this space music. 70's style space music, and the bars were shadows, they looked like they were gonna knock ur head off,,, now its real dark u cant see pract nothing, u can see some stars barely, real dim,, no music, no placents. nada.. it was better befor

kind of, they're both mountains, this ride barely has bad deep drops, they're fun drops, the worst drop rides are splash mountain, i get scared the crap out of myself on that, be it's still fun, especially for hobos who don't take showers
