Nice set up! The improvements are clearly visible. What is the longest streamer length you've gotten so far? Curious... Now if you were to find another higher current transformer - say a 9 kV 60mA unit - you could parallel them to get some larger saprks. How many capacitors do you have? I see that you are using CDE942C's - you may want to look up 942C16P68K caps - these are monsters!
I really like this setup, and it's definitely more efficient with the new wiring. Anyways, I definitely want to get longer streamer lengths. Afterall the coil itself is built to sustain a lot more power than the current power source can provide. So far the longest streamers are right about two feet. Doubt the coil is perfectly in tune though, and I could probably widen the spark gap. Some type of quenching at the gap would help a lot too I'm sure... :)
Great video i like the way you set this one up. You have improved so much on building these things since u started. I rember when it all started with a trip to home depot.
Do you remember what the first thing I bought from Home Depot was? I sure don't... I agree that there has been improvement on my coiling work. I attribue this to my initial rush for completing a Tesla coil, and seeing electrical streamers. Very exciting times! Next plan is to increase the power of the current setup. Obviously this means a higher amperage transformer, and more capacitors.
Glad you liked the video. It was a lot of work and money from start to finish, but I enjoyed every moment of it. I plan to continue projects like this when I have free time. Hoping to switch out the transformer, and capacitor setup on this coil for a more powerful design. The design of my main components, secondary, and primary coil are capable of supporting much high power levels. I also plan to experiment following Nikola himself, obviously he just didn't want to make streamers. A lot more!
Hey, can you help me. Im building a 9 kV 30 mA tesla coil, and can you tell me what the total capacitance and voltage rating for your capacitors is?
Also, can I know the total lenght of the primairy coil? I think i need 10m 8mm gas tube, but I need to be shure ;).

Nice job. I know you've been wanting to finish this for a long time. Congrats on getting it done!
