  • im in 7th grade playing this song for solo audition

  • try not to puff out your cheeks as much. It gives you better tone and you hit the notes correctly(not hit the correct notes,if that makes sense)

  • omg, what a weird-looking cello!!!

    ^_^

  • great job!! I have to play this for my seating placement test for band next year :D

  • I played this song in 8th grade.

it was the arrangement by ken swanson and i played it that fast

  • hm, this is the only vid of this song that i could find on the internet. does anyone know where i could find a professional recording? preferably the arrangment by Ken Swanson.

  • richtig cool:) so was hab ich noch nicht gesehen, ich spiel das jetzt mit cello.... respekt richrig witzig:)

  • I am a senior and also playing the one arranged by Ken Swanson...I have it in half time right now though. I love it!

  • I'm in 11th grade, and playing this solo on tuba, although mine is a longer version, arranged by Kenneth Swanson. It is a really fun solo!

  • Good on you son. I like kids with courage.

  • wow you're amazing!!! :D

i've never heard tuba played like this :)

i've been playing for 5 years.. it's pretty awesome :P

  • i did play that in 7th grade

im also the 1st all state tuba in texas so fu

  • what about the other half of this mvt when it moves into c major for a while? that's my favorite part! great job. just work on your phrasing and musicality. be a musician, not a technician. :)

  • lol dont die xD

  • Your breathing got in the way of some phrasing.

I heard little as far as the way dynamics were written in the piece.

Sorry to Nitpick at those two thing, I just know this piece inside and out, which tends to make me like that.

Other than that good job. Your tone could be expanded a little more, it sounds a bit congested.

Keep on practicing and the good work!

  • Good job with this difficult piece. What was the key of the tuba that you played in this video?

  • It looks from the fingerings it could be a CC... or an F...

  • its definitley a CC tuba

  • I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh at the gasping! I was afraid you were going to pass out at the end! Despite, your intonation was quite good. Very nice.

  • y the hell do u puff your cheeks

and i played that my 7th grade year

  • no way did you play that arrangement in 7th grade. good try

  • damn!! good job. i don't agree with the shorter breaths but i do think the could not be as loud. try not to make them so shallow. I wish i could have played like that when i was that young! keep up the amazing work!

  • You have to take shorter breaths instead of those loud gasps of air. During the sixteenth note run you sounded like you were sluring a couple. It wasn't very clear. Be a little more dramatic with shaping as well. I'm doing the same solo this year.

  • I was 13 at the time, I am now 15. Keep in mind that I had no music in front of me, I was just playing from memory.

  • @cmusgy Amazing playing. I am a first year university student and my new tuba teacher slapped this in front of my face to learn. You are going to help me out alot with this :)

  • how old were you? you have all the notes and decent articulation, but you have no style

  • That is really good, i am doing the same song for my solo this year, except of the bass trombone.

  • Pretty cool!
