  • Awful.

  • @turkishxgold yea as if you know music, one of the best tracks in the last 2 decades,

  • I was hoping to at least see paul spin some records SMH....

  • classic tune!!

  • I should listen 2 more of his music. I'm only hip 2 Rainforest.

  • one hell of a show

  • i love this tune since im on earth!

  • In ancient and medieval times, when a kingdom or nation declared a war, the King had to battle at the front line along with his army. Maybe its time to return to that system? where royals and leaders of countries put themsleves on the FRONT LINE for their country'

  • I definitley respect what this song is about, and of all the lives that were lost, but personally I don't like this song. :/

  • What a cool show!

  • superb!!

  • Paul Hardcastle wrote the ballad that best sums up the Vietnam War, both its insanity and pathos. He deserves a knighthood.

  • Love this guy, never seen any live footage of him ever-good post

  • Fukin Hell !!!

Hardcastle does the most mellow Jams, and also Kicks ass with his more heavy stuff

  • My gosh I always thought Paul Hardcastle did mellow stuff....UNTIL this.

  • @NETWORK23STUDIOS : please don´t miss "forest fire" ist defenitely *not* mellow ;)

  • The girl singing in the background is paul hardcastle's daughter , maxine

  • Whenever I fell like it, I get in my Mustang Cobra, drop the top and go cruising on a Sunday afternoon here in Southern Cal - and I play this jam at FULL volume - always turns heads - even the morons listening to today's crap.

  • this guy has a lot to answer for..... a true legend and pioneer of electronic music...superb....

  • Paul Hardcastle has got to be one of the worlds greatest instrumentalist, man.... hands down. He's created music from electro to some of the sexiest smooth tracks ever recored.

  • Paul "You Are The One"!!!!!!Great Man!!!

  • Paul Hardcastle is always good stuff. 19 best electro track of the 80's indeed. Ciao!

  • Wicked, I don't know of a better tune from the 80s

also Good to see Paul still selling records bigtime in America

Big Respect to a great british Artist

  • fuckin gangsta

  • What a show!!!!

Megasong. This version is extremly showing in all positions. A mozart of electronic beat. I will more of these beat hear!

  • This guy is pure geniuse!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Ruddteen

First and foremost Paul Hardcastle is English, and secondly singing a rap, pop song about a war where 55,000 american servicemen and 1 million Vietnamiese people lost their lives is sick

  • @Archaicconjurer What about all the films that have been made about World War 2, are they also sick? Idiot.

  • WOW! The "19" at 5:26 is the same "19" used for 19 Entertainment!

  • simon fuller who was hardcastle's manager at the time of the song's release later adopted the title for his company "19 Management"..

  • GRANDE!!!!

  • Paul Hardcastle Rocks!!! I was at this concert and felt like i was in Saigon!!!! back in my military days......but i was 23

    Semper FI !!!!!!

  • That was badass!

  • I have very few favorite songs and this one is on my top five. thanks for taking the time to put this up. reminds me of the fith grade!

** Even today this is still a classic **

** If only i was there it would of been an

    experience **

  • great to see paul has ditched the repetative jazz stuff and got back to what he excells at!

  • his jazzmasters stuff is cool

  • new video has some cool tracks

Journey to a different state of mind

  • CHOON

  • Nice video. I have not watched it until now. Thanks for upload it.

  • Uh, because it's a song highlighting the wrongs that have occured to the survivors? Use your fucking brain and don't be a reactionary moron

  • i got respect for the soldiers.

  • Paul was so far ahead of his time, wicked beats, still got my hardcastle vinyl that gets spun to this day.

    Shame he cut his afro!

  • To be honest many people would say its commercial shit. But beleive me people this guy is a genius. You should hear his Jazz.A true modern musician, who also won a grammy.Respect.

  • It only became commercial because it was too damn awesome to stay underground, people loved it because it was and still is sheer brilliance. Music like this gets discovered & it just blows up.

Like you say, he's a genius.

  • I have loved this song since it was released in the 80s. LOVE IT!

  • This man is a musical god , and totally inspired me to make music and Dj

I loved Paul's music well before 19 and back to the days of First Light ,

I will never forget the first time I heard 19 on Radio 1Tuesday tea time it sent shivers down my spineand still does now , I would love to have beer or a cup a tea with the man .

And now I'm mixing up his daughter tunes

    Rock ON

  • What I'll NEVER understand is why when our guys came home they didn't get a Hero's welcome. What was wrong with the dumbass people back then. Our guys DIDN'T have a choice the goverment sent them but it seemed like the plain people back then held it against our guys which was WRONG. To this very day those people should feel ASHAMED of their selves. YOU BACK YOUR TROOPS NO MATTER WHAT. I can't even begin to think what our guys were going through when there own people turned there backs on them

  • It was not usa's buisness to enter vietnam. It was a huge error on the usa goverments part to "help" in the vietnam war. Thousands of us soldiers died for nothing. Nothing was achieved by this war about from death. Make me worry about 10 years time, will it be china or the russians, God help us

  • Damn dog did you miss read what I posted? Doesn't look like it. I NEVER once said that we should have been over there. I hate war just as bad as the next person. Those men and women didn't have any say in the matter, they had to go. But my thing is get mad at the goverment NOT OUR TROOPS. What I'm trying to get across to stupid azz people from the 60's and 70's who treated our people when they came back like SH**. I'm like this YOU BACK YOUR TROOPS I don't give a F*** weather it's right or wrong

  • Calm your fucking nerves man. as for having to go i remember a Boxer that declined vietnam, now what was hime.... Oh yesh Muhammed ali. War is a hostile enviroment and troops to have to go to war, but then they have the choice to join and to play the goverments dangerous games

  • Now your opening a whole new can of worms. I have no respect for draft dodgers.

  • I AGREE. where would we have been in ww1 and 2 if people refused to go

  • Very true.

  • WW1+2 would never have started if people had refused to go.

  • they couldnt refuse it was national service those that refused went to jail

  • Who said i was talking about the allies?

  • Virtually all of the wars in the 20th century would never have started if the governments of the World didn't need to spend their defence budgets!

  • We'd all be speaking German if people didn't go. They had no choice.

  • read the comment. try and understand what was said.

  • All those who remember the war

They won't forget what they've seen..

Destruction of men in their prime

    whose average was 19

    Dedededededede-Destruction

    Dedededededede-Destruction

    War, War

    Dededede-Destruction, wa-wa-War, wa-War, War

    Dedededededede-Destruction

    War, War

  • Great!.*****!.

  • All those who remember the war

They won't forget what they've seen

Destruction of men in their prime

    Whose average age was 19

  • Where is his response to the IRAQ war? I bet Paul Hardcastle has a great ace in his sleeve...

  • A poignant reflection disguised as slick electro-pop. Art does not get better than that. By the way, Paul has really stepped up his stage show! Thanks for the vid.

  • paul hardcastle vs cerebral fix

  • the man is a genius

  • Great musician, great song, great performance!!Spectacular!!

  • Very powerful stuff.

  • When I was in Vietnam in 1968, I would have easily killed the person that could have possibly thought of this song. As a young Marine at that time, I was, just 19. I'm now 58. My grandson told me about this song, and I finally heard it. I am overcome with emotions that I havn't had in 40 years. You are a genius.

  • Wow much respect to you.

  • indeed, that girl is maxine hardcastle (if she still carries that family name ;o) ). who can remember her voice on songs like "let´s look to the future"..... how cute it was at that time. BTW, paul hardcastle is still in the business, and he´s still successful with his project "jazzmasters" and hie record label "trippin´ records". i respect him alot!

  • I think she did some of the backing vocals on "First Light" too.

She's beautiful. A song of her was released in one compilation of Hed Kandi in 2007. The name of the music is "It's Gonna Happen".

  • she also does alot of house tracks, one to look out for is with Wez Clarke - Another Chance.

  • That looks like his daughter Maxine on b/vo.

  • @TXF9a it is paul's daughter

  • I was to quick to rate this song. This IS another Hardcastle 5 star

  • Whoa. Since when does Paul Hardcastle ever perform?? Did he play anything else at this event?

  • I didn't know he performed live shows like this either. That's news to me I rarely if ever have heard of any live shows. I wonder how much tickets had cost for this event.

  • $19

  • Wow this is quality,is there more tracks from this gig

  • too bad any of us had/have to go to war. Thank you to all fellow vets. Thank you.............

  • yes it is

  • man..when that girl started singing i got goosebumps...is that his daughter?

  • Paul Hardcastle creo yo q es el mejor exponente conocido del Electro Británico junto al World Famous Supreme Team de Malcolm Mc Laren. En el 19 original no uso Karma, mas bien un Fairlight.

  • paul hardcastle music is awesome

  • My generation went to Desert Storm, and this meant something long before the present daze. Das Kinder--Mein Gott!

  • neat. first comment
