  • @mespasticpunk Your loss, I guess. But we all have our respective opinions, you yours and I mine, so I will proceed to leave it at that and enjoy a great song by two great people.

  • @mespasticpunk Was capitalizing the h in him when talking of Obama an accident on your part?

  • great cover

  • What i wouldn't give to see this in high quality. Let me know if anyone knows of such a video.

  • Cool, Jesus and George Washington cover God.

  • @marydwyer14119 He is God :) He's so awesome...

  • @mespasticpunk- Amen brother. Obama is Bush 2.0

  • This sucks. the sound quality blows.

  • OMFG - Eddie with Ben, my two heroes..... Amazing thank you xxxx

  • heavy song!

  • Anything PJ is ok by me

  • @chaddi2003 try this then..

    youtube.com/watch?v=kxcarSPE0xU

  • @chaddi2003 have you heard neil youngs "mirrorball" album, with pearl jam as his back up band. Pretty sick shit. Not to discredit crazy horse, but a nice change of pace for a Neil and pearl jam fan.

  • Judy Collins did a great rendition of this in the sixties...worth checking out.

  • THIS IS 4 U BABY

  • Another amazing cover. Thank you for putting this up rb1229.

  • sum one needs to do a modern cover of this an stick it to the pricks running this country

  • such a good song

  • Anagram: Advanced hell technologies = The concealed slaveholding.

  • Too bad that the mic couldn't handle this- lots of feedback and break up. Sound like it was an awesome performance! Thanks for posting this.

  • ... I think, I feel, that Eddie's soul is old enough to be totally and truely energy-sharin' ...

  • I personally prefer Eddie's performance during Bob Dylan's tribute at the Madison Square Garden in 1992 together with Mike Mc Ready playing guitar, but this is great as well.

  • Really a pitty, that your mic from camera got overdosed(sorry for my english, i`m from germany...), but THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! i love this dylansong since 20 years( me i am 33), and pearl jam since 19 years, and now i see such a video with ben harper!!!WOW, it´s a great mix of musicians and lyrics, this song is allways actuall.

and you can say this lyrics even to churches, thats my opinion, vaticanstadt and so on...

  • que pena que se oiga como el culo

  • The Boeing Corp. surreptiously implants innocent and unknowing U.S. civilians with "radio hypnotic intracranial visual holograpic micro-biochips (R-HIV-Hmb)" and then "send" them to secret restricted cities to be tortured and tormented via synthetic telepathy/neuro-impulse weapons applied from clandestine subterranean lab facilities and create a secret stock market off their "stealthness" abilities. They brainwash via aforementioned weaponry to accept a settlement & sign confidentiality papers.

  • I think your giving a company that can't correctly maintain there aircraft correctly alot of credit lol

  • who pissed on my rug....

  • "It's not about the chinaman!!!!"

  • What Id do for a studio recording of these two jamming together! Thanks for the great post !

  • huge performance.

  • Wow. Dylan wrote pearl jam songs for a few weeks back in the 60s, then he got bored. :)

  • eheheheh

  • Got to love "The Dude"

  • state of economy - souls for sale, cheap.

  • you dont have a soul.

  • Vedder looks like "Jeff Lebowski" or "the dude" in this clip lol. Great song!!!

  • 93,374 views and yet it still goes on

  • pablos going to war diddent give u.s.a a profit, george w bush sure did, but the public sure did get screwed, their economic wounds just grew bigger....u.s.a is not sutch a great country with all the problems they have and cause...ahh well i hope for america and the whole world that obama can make things better, sry for my poor spelling:D have a good day:)

  • I was at this. All I remember from it was screaming "HOLY SHIT" when he came out. It didn't really matter to me what they were playing.

  • what about the dude screaming out play 'take me out to he ball game!'

yeah no worries champ - eddie and ben will play that for you. fuck me dead. of all the songs you want to hear, it's that one?

  • Eddie sends shivers down my spine!! what a dude...

  • Bush's administration activates its war plans in other parts of the world and then put the blame on the countries that in fact are not to blame (former Yugoslavie, Russia, Iraque now and also preparations for war in Iran, Systems PRO in Europe, etc...). This is done in order to heal its own economic's wounds and also in order to give some false credits for the candidate Mccain... I almost forgot-OIL (Black Sea - Georgia, Ukraine; Iran, Iraque, and the whole Near east!!).

  • 2 weeks before the Georgia crisis, our own troops were there training the Georgian troops for "Operation Immediate Action 2008". Look it up. It's all for oil, people.

  • Bush = Hitler

if you don't believe me, just as the Iraqis

  • I think you've went too far...

after all Hitler tried to conquer the world, tried and partly achieved, to perform genocide on the jewish people, killed systematically, numerous amount of innocent people (russian, polish, french, british and others)... yeah... i think you've went too far..

  • and also ask the Palestinians and Afghanis, and Pakistanis.

    Oh yes, BUSH = HITLER

  • Bush would need pictures too..he ought to be impeached...

  • Is there a way that G. Bush could understand this song? I guess he would need someone to explain to him.

  • bush isnt even the real leader. hes a puppet

  • @kikoqueretaro People have to understand this song, not Bush... ;)

  • @kikoqueretaro

I heard that Obama explained it to him. They both laughed..

  • @kikoqueretaro He'd also need someone to tell him what the lyrics are, because eddie can't pronounce clear syllables for sheeet.

  • Music is meditative and it raises awareness, but there has to be true action and self sacrifice. It's not that there's an actual enemy out there to fight against other than our own selves, it's just we're not out of the jungle yet peeples. There is no sin and there is no innocence. There is only ignorance and awakening. Find your master.

  • You all realize that this is a Bob Dylan song.

  • Well, these aren't Eddie's words. This is kind of a song that Bob Dylan wrote a long time ago. Eddie just sees that applicable nature of it. But go ahead and try to sit around all day and be as "unwitted" as Bob Dylan. I mean I know you said Eddie, but you were attacking the words as well, so I guess you have show as much wit as Dylan. We will know if you were succesful by how your works impact society like Dylan's did. So I guess if you are succesful we will all know your name soon. Good luck!

  • Great song but sound stinks.

  • esta música só com Eddie Vedder fica perfeita...Nem com Dylan.Fato

  • Ha, ha chicholinosancho. You're mom eats shit. Saw her yesterday at the defecator. She really enjoyed it.

  • I know it´s a family thing.. but this still sounds like shit

  • man knows hisa shit.

  • Puta sonzera !!

  • Now we all sing in unsion...

    EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE!

  • fuckin hell thts amazing

  • holy shit this is fucking amazing

  • fantastic

  • putain que c'est bon !!!!!!!!!!

  • Had I seen nothing else that weekend, this one performance was worth the ticket price...Ben and Eddie covering a Dylan tune....amazing

  • is it possible a better roster?

  • Best duo you will see in THIS life time.

  • I would not have missed Daft Punk for the world, but dammit, I really wish I had seen this.

  • What is this good coment bad comment shit? I had ten points in my comment!! The wost part of it is that I might be giving points on people's comments in no time

  • daft punk couldn't carry such a sombre song like ben and ed. true music lovers down to the very core! keep rockin' my brothers. and thanks for posting this vid. by the way i didn't hate daft punk so much until i read some of these mindless coments from fans who can't stand to see others enjoy what they love! PEACE!

  • This was definitely the highlight of Lolla for me. I wish Ironically, I was there on a guest pass from my friend Mike who is the Moby lookin guitarist to Eddie's left and he said if he wasn't playing he would have been at DaftPunk. I would have liked to see them too, but how could I pass up seeing Mike rock out with Ben Harper in this awesome setting. The set was off the hook and the Eddie Vedder cameo to cover Dylan was just the icing on the cake!

  • Yeah, this was certainly a highlight of the weekend. As good as PJ is at playing this live, I've gotta say, this was even better. I don't think anybody will argue with me on that.

  • F-ing rad. Ed & Ben should tour, they've got some real power.

  • absolutely breath-taking...one of my favorite Dylan songs, and done even better than Dylan himself. Unfortunately I was over watching Daft Punk. I can't believe I missed this. Thanks so much for posting it. Beautiful...

  • such a good performance....highlight of my weekend....

  • I'm sure it's possible that both shows were really good. No one needs to knock the other's choice just appreciate the music, that's the entire point of the Lollapalooza festival remember?

  • Can this Daft Punk crap please go elsewhere? I didn't put this vid up for some pj vs. daft punk war. I"m sure they're great for the fans who dig them, but this 'better than that' stuff is ridiculous.

  • @rb1229 Do you remember when you were a kid and you always got into those "who would win if these superheroes fought?" Yeah, these arguments will never stop.

  • @rb1229 Well said, those guys are fucking idiots.

  • A search for "ben harper lollapalooza" yields 11 results, while a search for "daft punk lollapalooza" yields close to 130. I wonder which crowd was more into the act?

  • that or maybe ben harper crowed was more stoned i was 4 rows back and every one was toking down

  • That just shows you how many dumb people there are in the world. I bet if J Timberlake had a set at Lolla, there would be triple the vids of Daft Punk. Does that mean that he is better live than Daft Punk?

  • you're only kidding yourself or sniffing markers if you think this is better than daft punk live.

  • hmmm you guys must have not heard about DAFT PUNK. but it's okay, we all make mistakes in our life. I just would never had made the mistake to miss Daft!!!

  • Daft Punk is still around? They were the best button-pressers of the mid 90s. Such talent.

  • I'm sorry. You're right, and Pearl Jam is such 21st centry. Ten, what an album!!!

  • I watched some of the Daft Punk vids from Lolla. They have a really good live drummer and bass player. And the one guy who presses buttons can hold his right headphone like no other.

  • How many albums has Daft Punk produced that has gone platinum...wait, how many albums has Daft Punk sold.

Don't criticize PJ/Ben because what you will be saying is inevitably wrong on inane. Have a great day after being Daft Punkd'

  • This was such a wonderful treat at the show. This ONE song made the entire weekend worth the money!

  • Absolutely beautiful! thank you for posting one of my favourite songs!

  • when i saw eddie, i ran around in circles for about two minutes. then i called all my friends that had gone to daft punk and rubbed it in their faces. this was the highlight of friday night.

  • This is why I went to Lollapalooza!!

  • ME TOO! Bought my ticket solely for these two guys!!

  • fucking awesome

  • Phenomenal.

  • Thank you, awesome. Returned a favor, eh?
