I'm actually really glad this game never saw the light of day. Seeing Joanna Dark totally revamped like that would kinda kill the series for me. I'm perfectly happy with games evolving and changing as sequels are released, but it's a whole 'nother story when they take a lot of familiar things and change them for no specifically good reason. "Making a game more realistic" is probably the worst thing you could ever do if it wasn't trying to be realistic in the first place.

The Perfect Dark series was always terrible. GoldenEye was a good game and Rare's original FPS developers were talented (Timesplitters was pretty good), but the Perfect Dark series was always subpar. Nobody would have cared to see another sequel, MS made the right decision to can this game. Xbox 360 has no shortage of good shooters. Rare is bringing something much more valuable to the console with Kinect and avatars. Xbox needs content that appeal to a diverse audience not more c-list shooters.

Yes Goldeneye was more unique because it brought gameplay innovations that became standards of the industry,but Perfect Dark took all innovations of Goldeneye and refined them making them even more fun.PD might wasn't as innovative as Goldeneye,but it did everything Goldeneye did,many times better.PD Zero was rubbish.

The Stamper Brothers sold their part of 51% first,and then Nintendo sold their part too,because either with 0% or 49% being theirs,Microsoft would either way do whatever they wanted to Rare.

The biggest irony is tha Microsoft payed 375 million dollars,the largest sum of money every paid for the aquisition of a developer,and what they got where average or lower than that games.
