I tried to use the webcam with Windows Movie Maker but when i played it back the video was super fast, but the audio was fine. I didnt tamper with it or anything its just how it was. Is there any way to fix this?
Just bought a brand new one but... does anyone know why the WiFi is so slow? It takes like one hour to download a 30MB file at the fastest places I've been to. At a cofeeshop last night my friend was able to download the same file at a 1.5 minute while for me 10 times slower. PLEASE HELP!
LOL, true. When I had Ubuntu on my machine (before I switched to Windows) it worked great even with cheaper computer mouses (or mice, don't know which.)
would you say the Asus Eee is a good laptop for a first time laptop buyer? im thinkin about gettin one for college. is it capable of using microsoft office or what programs for writing essays does it have?
you get a sd or sdhc card or a external hdd depending upon your hdd limit and you format the sdhc if you want to have the orginal os deleted and you instal on the card
I never had any problems with scroll mice and Linux, and that includes both wired and wireless. So this is news to me, and I've used both Logitech and Microsoft mice with OpenSuse, Redhat and Knoppix.
"We didn't have to do anything to enable this". What do you mean, it comes with pre-installed flash player? Because it's proprietary software, and the FOSS alternative (Gash) doesn't work quite well yet.
"The scroll wheel works flawlessly, which isn't always the case with Linux-based machines"
Somewhat misleading, isn't it? Any modern distribution supports scroll wheels unless you intentionally install a command-line server distribution or you're running a distro seven years old.
ACE US, A as in apple, SUS as in SUSpect.

How about viewing the youtube video in full screen mode?
Mine, at 800x480 has borders. And at 800x600, it's too large. But it's still okay (^^)

i got the 4gb version from newegg for 399$
and i bought 1gb of ddr2 for 20$ also from newegg.
my friend has one of these that he uses for service calls (in-home pc repair) and he doesnt leave home without it.
i was going to use mine for school because its so small and it comes with about 40 programs.

It would be great for college. I never bring my laptop because its just way too big to lug around to classes.
Also the eee comes with open office, which is IMO much better than MS office.

I dont think open office isn't better. Its basically a slightly buggy 1:1 copy

Full screen youtube play back is perfectly fine, I've tried it and it's got enough grunt to do it without dropping frames.

How do you put Windows, or Ubuntu on it since it doesn't have a Disc Drive? I want to buy one, but I couldn't really use the Xandros OS.
drofnomvideos 4 years ago
i think u should install xubuntu (1.5gb) instead of ubuntu(4gb)And requires less. Instead of a disc drive it has a flash drive of 2,4 or 8gb i think
