  • Somebody decided to hit the turbo button on this performance

  • love this song, saw them perform it at cornerstone fest in 2002

  • Weakness numbing my brain

A lack of love for my life

    Means more than the pain

    So erase those weak commitments

No choice, no way I'm acquitted

You'd better build another cross to hang another life

My immeasurable gain is your loss

So now run from the sights

Disease infects the paths to birthrights

  • Martyrs, not popular charts Martyrs, not popular charts Martyrs, not popular charts Martyrs, not popular charts Consequence rules the sects of mine Hindsight throws the minds to past lives Death's all around me But now I'd rather die than follow mediocrity Disown my flesh, no loopholes to gain Strain on my face sustained Devotion, not a false witness Wake up and smell the ashes

  • I'm not religious and this song gets me going hardcore.

  • Wow! Yeah! That clears the spiritual sinuses. LOL Thank you!!

  • i have all the songs to the 1998 CD, if you want me to post them reply to this and give em a thumbs up.

  • @Shinobi4Jesus Do it!!

  • I think I was security at this show... lol

  • perfect song,and perfect band

  • i have the tooth and nail sampler with this on it

  • haven't heard sounds off that album in a long time. Great vid, thnx for posting it.

  • Was that Alex?! So funny he has hair and Andrew doesn't.

  • Zao, P86, Spoken, P.O.D., and Living Sacrifice dominated my later teen life. Awesome.

  • yep me too !

  • This is epic.

  • We need more hip singers like this in rock!!!!

  • Check out older P.O.D. and older Pillar.

  • run with the rest of the masses!!

  • the song that introduced me to project!

    thanks for posting it!

  • Wow, their drummer used to have hair! Lol.

  • Where can I get this stuff?

  • great song but they used playback.

  • I don't think so, they go up-tempo on a few places.

  • Agreed. The whole song is just a smidge faster than the recording. The feedback is "off" also. The only playback is the echo in the chorus.

  • o man, good old project 86. the best christian band ever ;). if only they'd go back to their old sound! but still the best nonetheless, too bad i lost my entire p86 collection (along with all these other great old-school bands) :( . these guys rock :)

  • cool!! i like project 86 now, and also back then they where cool

  • Old school

  • great video, awesome band

  • Awesome!! i love P86. it sounds like he says "waters my popular choice" lolo

  • Roffle..same here dude, except it was kinda the opposite. "WATER'S NOT POPULAR CHOICE!!"

  • He actually says "martyr's not popular choice" since the other phrase wouldn't make sense in this song. I can see how it could be misinterpreted though because of the way Andrew says it.

  • Actually we're all wrong. I looked up the lyrics yesterday because I knew he was saying something totally different, and the real lyrics say "Martyrs not popular charts". Yes, you were the closest Rawk4Life, but I still pretty much knew what he was saying.

  • i just cant get over the shear awesome in this video

  • Wow, this is awesome. Rare footage indeed. Thanks for sharing.

  • LOL This band is so awesome! I remember when I bought this cd. I heard this song and was completely amazed! This band (in my opinion) has better lyrics, and better songs then say Rage Against The Machine. On top of that their Christian so I don't have to worry about anti-religious banter. It's great!

  • I agree with you 100%!

  • very well said, indeed

  • Thanks to all for the comments. As for the video. I shot the entire concert, and had a lot more tracks to choose from, but Run seemed to be the shortest.. and since I had to do a lot of audio work.. i went with this. Sadly my entire Raw-Footage film stock of this concert and many other projects were lost in a house fire in 2005. I was lucky to find this last copy. Enjoy.

  • @toptech777 Some idiot I think stole your this video and uploaded it to his page. He then made dumb comments in the description about them.

  • stop fighting.

  • It's amazing how bands just continue to transform year after year. I've loved these guys since the beginning. Each cd has a new element to it. It's crazy to see this and to see where they are musically.

  • knid of like the oc supertones

  • i said randy looked stupid in this vid,but i didn't mean that to be offensive.

    he looks fine nowadays

  • this track rocks hard! love it.

  • dang old skool!!

  • thats not steve.... :(

  • The bass player is Ethan Luck. I think he went to the Supertones and is now with Demon Hunter. Everyone else is the same.

  • yeah...randy looks so stupid in this vid!

  • Actually, Steven Dail(sp?) has always been the bass player for P86, it was the band's drummer who recently parted ways with the guys. The only other band Ethan Luck played with other than the Supertones and Demon Hunter was a little known band named My Red Hot Nightmare.

  • I don't really know why I'm spending time responding to this, but I am pretty darn sure Ethan was in P86. I was at this show. He is the one playing bass in this video. He left the band before Drawing Black Lines came out. I'm sorry if you are unable to comprehend this reality, but it is true.

  • Sorry to disappoint you, but if Ethan was playing guitar at this show, he was temporarily filling in for Steven because Ethan is not credited as being the bass player on the first album.

  • I'm not disappointed, but this is hilarious. Ethan was the original P86 bass player and played on the first demo TAPE. He was playing in this video because it was one of their first real shows. My version of the P86 history is backed up by Ethan's wikipedia entry which lists him as playing bass in P86 from 1996-1998. The P86 entry also lists Ethan as a former member. How are you SOOOOO certain that Steven was the one and only bass player?

  • Ok, chill out dude lol. I am just going by album credits and apparently Ethan left the band BEFORE their BEC Recordings debut. Sorry if I sounded like a know-it-all, but that wasn't my intention.

  • You are right, and Ethan was filling in at the time of this concert. He was already in his next band... The Dingees? yeah, so... you both are right. Peace

  • I read somewhere that ethan was in the band for a short time but steven took his place pretty quickly

  • WOOT THE GIRAFFE KNOWN ALL

    fROM ThE GiRAffE

  • i MEANT forom the llama I was agreeing with that user...

I think what she said abouthte band memember was correct...

And andrew,,, y ou arent made to rap... thats why run isnt a popular song

  • oh man. this is definitely my favorite song off this cd.

  • toptech777 - [I didn't go far back and read any of your old postings... so you may have already answered this]. I love P86... Especially their old stuff from this album. Do you happen to have any more of their videos? Like did yall film more of their set or what? Or is this the only one yall taped?

  • haha its a good thing to kno that andrew could never dance haha

  • cool to see this vid from the old days, but i like to hear the live track from this performance not the cd track with crowd dubbed over it.

  • incredible! Back when they were a deep, serious band. The new album makes me feel old. Was that really Steve?

  • Holy crap. I've stumbled upon a gold mine with this vid. If you are indeed the one who made this music vid, I REALLY appreciate you puttin' it up on YouTube. Been a P86 fan since Drawing Black Lines... and this really just makes me appreciate the band even more. THANKS AGAIN DUDE!

  • I know. The new CD is disappointingly corny, 80's music. :(

  • This album and Drawing Black Lines are byr far m fav.

  • This album is one of the frist ones that really got me into heavier music

  • I'd really like to hear this with the original live audio. Even if it is really tinny with a hiss, hum or whatever. Even if it is a hiss/hum there are ways of removing them..... any chance you've still got the original audio or is that the only copy of it you have? (eg, this already audio-synced one).

  • why does the cheering make me think that some of the other audio is tweaked? I mean, if you look at the crowd (i admit it's pretty big) it doesn't look large enough to create that MASSIVE cheering sound.

  • read the video description (or maybe it's a comment in the comment section). Everything will be explained. ;)

  • er, not really. also if you hear andrew talking at the end it sounds like what you would expect from a simple recording--pretty tinny and bad. It doesn't really match up to the powerful vocals and music in the rest of the video. I'm still thinking it's kinda faked.

  • Quoting toptech777:

"no i don't. it was terrible. the sound board was in the balcony, and the cord to connect was shot... so it actually didn't have much at all. More (bad cord) hum than anything. so i took the song off the cd and timed it up. added reverb, and audience. came out pretty good. :D"

  • ok. where did you get that text? what i see is this: "5 cam shoot w/ great audio. Must see. I shot this music video for a college film class. Andrew and I took a film class together at now Vanguard University in So-Cal. 1998, back before they were famous and their sound was awesomely raw. If you'll notice the video credits, I AM Yeshua Productions. Enjo"

  • I believe he is refering to my earlier comments. Click on Oldest in the COmments and read the conversation where it starts. I had to edit the audio because the connection from the soundboard to the camera was shot. So, yes, your observation is correct, the only real audio used is Andrew's last words "I choose to stand". That is real, the rest is off the CD edited and synced to the video, with live audience added for FX.

  • awesome! Thanks for posting!

  • Yeah that is definately andrew schwab...no doubt

  • is the bald guy the same singer they have now?

  • yes, it's him

  • wow ,i just realized, alex has a full head of hair, wow, lol.

  • Amazing video. Awsome syncing job there. Amazing song, amazing band. Got any more stuff?

  • thx. sorry, i had this laying around on a HDD I thought was bad. Ran a diagnostic program on it, and BAM! Music video still in tact! sadly it's my only copy.

  • "Water's my popular choice." HAHAHA. i have to admit, so did I. but only for a lil'while. :o

  • For the longest time I thought Andrew was saying, "Water's my popular choice."

This is a great video of a great band. The Self Titled and Drawing Black Lines albums changed my life.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Great work.

  • wow!!! the old project 86!!!

  • INDEED!!!

  • love the sound, they sound like their own sound, no fuckin copying, these cats jam!! the entire cd punches hard ass!!

  • btw. THX. Pass it on to all your P86 buds. :D

  • This is great. Do you have the original live audio? I'd love to hear that

  • no i don't. it was terrible. the sound board was in the balcony, and the cord to connect was shot... so it actually didn't have much at all. More (bad cord) hum than anything. so i took the song off the cd and timed it up. added reverb, and audience. came out pretty good. :D
